Steely the Blue Russian: A Purr-fect Blend of Elegance and Mystery!

Steely is my name and I am a 1 1/2 year old male Russian Blue cat. I really am beautiful and was adopted from the Butler Farm Show and was a rescue. My owners are a wonderful and really fun family; Jessica and Kyle Peek are my parents and the children are Vivian, 11 years, Henry, 8 years and Penny, 6 years.

My partner in crime is a male cat, Smoky, adopted in Tennessee, and named after the Tennessee volunteers. He was originally the pet of my mom, Jessica, when she was dating Kyle, my dad.  Smoky is also a Russian Blue.  Smoky is 14 years old; Smoky has a chill kind of personality.   He acts like a dog, greets people at the door and follows everyone around. Guess what - he likes to eat Toaster Strudel!

I’m a very caring, loving cat, and when the kids cry and get upset, I run to them and rub my head on them, they love when I do that.   I also love to carry around the plastic outlet plugs,    don’t even ask me why…. I just like those things!

You know what else….I’m very spoiled. My parents buy me toys all the time and I love that. You can never have too many kitty toys!  Sometimes I even share with Smoky. Another thing, I’m very intelligent, I climb the kids bunk bed ladder! So fun and then I walk around the edge of the bed.

Now I need to tell you about the other pets the family has….chickens!   They keep us away from them but Daisy, the dog, is allowed to be with them sometimes.

The three OG chickens are Fuzzy, who is a Buff Orpington, Chicken Lord, she’s a Barred Rach and Goldie, a Rhode Island Red. Two of the chickens, Black Bean and Dark Chocolate, passed away 2 years ago.

They are all females. Goldie is the ring leader, and believe me, from what I can see, they all have unique personalities. When deer come around, the chickens like to hang out with them, I don’t know why, guess they’re just nebby!  They eat tons of grubs. Also, they love fruit and veggies. I guess from all the good food they eat, I hear their eggs are healthy and delicious. And something really good is they keep the tick population under control!   My family loves that! Penny, the six year old, sings them lullabies and the chickens drift right off to sleep.

As you can tell, I have a great life with my family and wouldn’t change a thing!
