From Blackhawks to Pizza Dance Parties: Meet the Adventure-Loving Jones Family!
The Love Story That Almost Didn’t Happen (Until it Did!)
Jessica and Adam’s love story is one of those "it was meant to be" tales. They first met at Penn State Altoona, where they crossed paths a few times but weren't quite ready for each other. Fast forward to post-college life in Northern Virginia, and their paths collided once again. This time, they were ready! As Jessica puts it, "God had a plan." They've now been happily married for ten years and counting. (Fun fact: they tied the knot at Early Mountain Vineyard near Charlottesville—how dreamy!)
Adam’s military career as a Blackhawk pilot kept the Jones family on their toes. Just a month into marriage, they received a four-day notice to move to Alabama for flight school—talk about an adventure! The military eventually took them to Colorado, where they soaked up all the outdoor thrills the state has to offer, but the pull of family and community brought them back to Murrysville in 2020.
When COVID hit and their eldest daughter Adalynne was a toddler, Jessica and Adam knew it was time to move back to their roots. Jessica, a Murrysville native, realized that the community she grew up in was exactly where she wanted to raise her own family. "My family, friends, and the community are what keep us here," she says. And while they loved Colorado’s mountains, the support of their local village won out.
Life at the Jones household is all about fun! They’re outdoorsy at heart, especially during the fall, and Friday nights are reserved for pizza and dance parties. Their daughters Adalynne (5) and Aspen (2) keep them busy with gymnastics (Adalynne is quite the little tumbler), and their two pups—Nittany (named, of course, after Penn State’s famous mascot) and Reese (adopted in Alabama, named after Jessica’s favorite actress)—add to the family fun.
Jessica juggles life as a mom with her role as Training & Development Manager at UPMC and Adam is on a mission too - with his business, Kingdom Operatives. Through his work, Adam helps service members, veterans, and high-performers find their purpose, resilience, and confidence. He's even written a book, Weapons of Mass Deception, where he tackles burnout and mental health in high-pressure environments. Adam is also focused on leadership development for kids and giving back to the community through ministries and programs for at-risk youth.
The Jones family are total foodies! They love supporting local spots like D’s, Ginny’s, and Madero, and when they’re not enjoying a home-cooked meal (Jessica’s meatloaf and Adam’s chicken parm are family favorites), you might catch them indulging in Half Baked Harvest recipes. Their favorite vacation spots are Colorado and Seaside, FL, where they enjoy exploring and relaxing in equal measure.
Adam and Jessica are passionate about volunteering and uplifting the next generation. From developing leadership programs for local kids to speaking at ministries and mentoring at-risk youth, the Jones family makes it a priority to give back to their community.
We’re thrilled to have the Jones family as part of the Murrysville community! Keep an eye out for them enjoying a Friday night pizza dance party or exploring the great outdoors with their kids and pups in tow.
