Meet the Carney Family: New Faces with a Heart for Community

Murrysville has recently welcomed a dynamic and warm-hearted family to our community – the Carneys. Karen and Leo Carney, along with their four children, have quickly embraced the charm and opportunities Murrysville offers.

Leo is a seasoned Physician Doctor of Osteopathy with Cornerstone Whole Health. His expertise and dedication have already made a significant impact in the healthcare community. After an illustrious 22-year career with the United States Navy, Leo retired last year, marking a new chapter for the Carney family as they settled back in Pennsylvania.

Karen is the heart and soul of the family, a devoted stay-at-home mom who ensures their household runs smoothly. Her passion for family and community is evident in her every action, making her a pillar of support for their children and a welcoming face to neighbors.

Their children, Leo IV (21), Joel (19), Caleb (15), and Noelle (13), are equally impressive and engaged. Leo IV is currently attending The Ramp School of Ministry, while Joel is pursuing his education at Pensacola Christian College. Caleb and Noelle are active students at Trinity Christian School, in the 10th and 8th grades respectively.

The Carneys have a zest for life that extends beyond their professional and educational pursuits. They are avid fitness enthusiasts, frequently seen running and working out at Burn Boot Camp Murrysville. Their favorite family activities include playing games, dining out, and spending quality time with friends and family. They also have a soft spot for their Bullmastiff, Titan, who is a cherished member of their family.

Their love for Murrysville stems from its close-knit community and proximity to extended family. Although they have only lived here for three months, they are eager to explore more and contribute to the local fabric. They are active members of Reclamation Church in Monroeville and have a history of participating in mission trips to Guatemala, showcasing their dedication to helping others.

When it comes to dining, the Carneys have already discovered local gems like Burgatory, but they’re always on the lookout for new favorites. Their Cajun Chicken Pasta is a beloved home-cooked meal, reflecting their knack for bringing family together over delicious food.

Stroll Murrysville magazine is their go-to for local business recommendations, and they appreciate the sense of community it fosters. The Carneys' return to Pennsylvania after over 25 years of living away has been a homecoming filled with excitement and joy. Their story is a testament to the enduring bonds of family and the new beginnings that Murrysville offers.

We invite you to get to know the Carney family better. Their warmth, generosity, and commitment to making a difference are qualities that enrich our community. Whether you bump into them at Burn Boot Camp, at church, or around town, be sure to say hello and welcome them to Murrysville. They are eager to build new friendships and contribute to the vibrant spirit of our neighborhood.
