Join Brittani Robertson, NV resident and travel expert, as she embarks on a firsthand adventure through Italy’s most enchanting destinations—from the serene shores of Lake Garda to the historic streets of Verona.

In March 2024, Brittani Robertson had the opportunity to explore the breathtaking Veneto Region of Italy. As a travel agent, Brittani frequently receives requests from clients for Italian vacations, and this trip provided the perfect chance to immerse herself in the destinations she often recommends. Invited on a FAM (familiarization) trip by one of her preferred travel suppliers, Brittani spent a week diving deep into the culture, cuisine, and history of the region.

A Week of Adventure

The journey began in Verona, a city famous for its connection to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and its stunning Roman Amphitheater. As Brittani wandered the historical city center, she was captivated by the mix of ancient and medieval architecture. The highlight of her visit was a cooking class where she learned to make homemade ravioli, adding an authentic Italian touch to her culinary skills.

From Verona, Brittani traveled to the cities of Padua and Vicenza. In Padua, she marveled at the elegant bridges, riverside architecture, and the prestigious University of Padua. Vicenza offered a visit to the Olympic Theatre, designed by the renowned architect Palladio, a remarkable blend of history and art.

Exploring Italy’s Wine Regions and Lakes

The trip also included a tour of the Valpolicella wine region, where Brittani had the opportunity to taste some of Italy’s finest wines. She continued her adventure with a boat tour along the Sirmione Peninsula, taking in the beauty of Lake Garda and the picturesque towns of Salo and Limone sul Garda, which dot the lake’s shoreline.

One of the highlights of the week was exploring the Franciacorta wine region, renowned for its sparkling wines, before the trip concluded in Milan, where Brittani indulged in some of the best shopping in Italy.

Cuisine and Unexpected Surprises

Throughout her journey, Brittani sampled a variety of Italian dishes and wines, each meal offering a new discovery of flavors. Although the region had experienced heavy rain and flooding before her arrival, Brittani was greeted by perfect fall weather, making her trip even more enjoyable. She found March to be an ideal time to visit Italy, avoiding the large crowds and high prices of summer.

A Perfect Blend of History and Luxury

When asked about her favorite part of the trip, Brittani’s response was simple: “All of it!” The combination of food, wine, shopping, spas, and rich history made the trip unforgettable. For those considering a visit to the Veneto Region, Brittani offers this advice: go in the spring or autumn for pleasant weather, beautiful landscapes, and fewer tourists.

With her expert knowledge and firsthand experience, Brittani is more excited than ever to help her clients plan their perfect Italian getaway, tailored to their tastes and interests.
