Reid and Sydney’s love story is one of serendipity, second chances, and the beauty of blending two lives—and two families—into something truly extraordinary.

They knew of each other in high school but never truly connected. Life took them in separate directions; both married, had children, and eventually found themselves divorced. Each had sworn off marriage and raising more children, convinced that chapter of their lives had closed. But fate had other plans. 

Reconnecting online, they found themselves drawn to each other in ways they never expected. What started as catching up soon led to a leap of faith—a first date. By the second date, they were inseparable. Everything felt so natural, so easy, as if they had been waiting for this kind of love all along. They both realized that this was how marriage was meant to be—effortless, joyful, and deeply fulfilling.

Mindful of their children, Reid and Sydney decided to wait before introducing their families to each other. When the time finally came, it was as if their four kids had always known one another. Willow (9), Grace (9), Morgan (10), and RJ (14) blended together seamlessly, turning their once-separate lives into a beautiful, intertwined family unit.

Travel became a cherished part of their journey, and their most memorable trip was to Nicaragua in 2019. One breathtaking afternoon, while playing golf on a stunning hole overlooking the water, Sydney took her swing and turned to find Reid down on one knee. In that perfect moment, against the backdrop of the ocean, he asked her to be his forever.

They married in October 2022 in what they lovingly call a “planned elopement”. at the Santa Barbara Courthouse.

It was an intimate and intentional celebration of their love. Just the way they wanted. Not even telling their parents until the day before. There, with only their parents and kids in attendance they exchanged vows It felt perfect, focusing on what mattered – their union and the blending of their families in such a special way.

Though they had both been certain they were done with having kids, a quiet conversation began to unfold between them. What if? Deciding that f it was meant to be, it would happen. And it did. Almost immediately, Sydney became pregnant—with identical twins.

Sydney cherished every moment of her pregnancy, finding joy in sharing each stage and with Reid and the kids Every milestone became a celebration, bringing their already close-knit unit even closer together. The twin’s arrival has turned their home into a whirlwind of love, laughter, and boundless energy.

Now, as a family of eight, life is anything but quiet. Their days are filled with noise, joy, and the beautiful chaos of raising six incredible kids. Looking back at their journey, Reid and Sydney feel nothing but gratitude.
