How Children's Music Academy
Instilled the Love of Music for a North Ranch Family
"When I was younger, I took piano lessons. The goal was to get me to play a classical song as quickly as possible in what felt like an effort to impress people. As a result, piano was never fun. It was not something I looked forward to doing. When I had my children, I sought out a program that was different from how I had been taught. This is when I found Children's Music Academy. Children's Music Academy does not just teach piano; it creates and instills a love for music. The class combines singing, dancing, music reading/writing, and piano playing. It introduces kids to a variety of instruments from the piano to the drums to the guitar. My daughter, who started when she was 5 and is now 8, chooses to practice piano on her own. When she gets mad, she goes to the piano and plays a song to calm down. My son, who started at 4.5 and is now 6, has also developed a love for music. Finally, my youngest, who is 4, is looking forward to starting his lessons at CMA as well. Unlike traditional lessons, the parent sits next to their child and is fully involved in the class. After three years of sitting next to my daughter, CMA has inspired me to get back to playing piano and I am now taking lessons as well. The true shame is they don't also have a program for adults."
