Lucian Remick
Competitive Travel Soccer
My name is Lucian Remick and I have lived in Oakhurst since I was two years old. I am 13 year old 7th grader at Sashabaw Middle School and I have a sister Cataleya in 3rd grade at Bailey Lake Elementary. I love living here on the golf course and growing up with neighbors who have become friends.
SINCE I WAS THREE
I started playing soccer when I was three years old. I love the game of soccer because I enjoy playing it and my whole mom's side of the family plays soccer too. I play soccer everyday but Friday. Fridays are usually when I have free time to read or catch up on any school work, or play with friends. Every coach that I've had has taught me a lot of different skills that I use to improve, including my parents, Michael and Natacha Remick. They are so supportive and take me to all my games and practices.
COMPETITIVE TRAVEL SOCCER
I play competitive travel soccer. I'm on Vardar MLS and my position is right back. My responsibilities as the right back include marking and tracking the wingers on the opposing team, intercepting passes, and providing cover for the center backs on my team.
INSPIRATION
If you ask who I look up to in the game, it would be Cristiano Ronaldo who is a Portuguese professional footballer. He is a captain for the Saudi Pro League club Al Nasser and the Portugal national team. His position is a forward.
GOALS
I've learned that it is very important to stay healthy, and eat good food so I can live a good life. My goal is that I'm always involved in soccer no matter how far I go. My favorite soccer moment so far happened at a tournament in Nashville, Tennessee. We played four games in five days and had a lot of fun. I want lots of memories just like that one.
ADVICE FROM LUCIAN
My advice for someone involved in any sport is to remember that even when you make a mistake, make sure to keep trying. There is something to learn from every mistake.
