CONNIE MALACE CLASSIC

RAISING AWARENESS FOR SCLERODERMA

OUR STORY
Connie Malace was born in Bay City, Michigan. In 1991, she married Larry Malace II and they had two children, Larry III and Courtney. They moved to Clarkston in 1998 and Connie's number one priority was her kids. She actively participated in all of their school and sports events. Connie also loved to listen to Kenny Chesney on their boat while sipping her favorite drink, a seven-seven. She tried living every day to the fullest and was an inspiration to everyone around her. Unfortunately, Scleroderma took her from us way too soon.

WHAT IS SCLERODERMA?
Scleroderma is a chronic, autoimmune disease that attacks the heart, lungs, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. Women in their middle ages are three to four times more likely than men to be afflicted with scleroderma. According to the National Scleroderma Foundation, an estimated 300,000 people in the United States have the disease in one of its forms.

CONNIE MALACE CLASSIC
Three years ago, Larry II organized a golf outing to benefit the National Scleroderma Foundation to help others affected by this autoimmune disease. On August 26, 2024, the 3rd Annual Connie Malace Classic was held on a beautiful summer day for all the golfers and supporters who came out to Oakhurst Golf & Country Club.

THANK YOU
It was a total success, we’ve now surpassed $50,000 raised in the last 3 years. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of those who came out to the event! We’re also incredibly thankful for all our amazing sponsors including our title sponsor, Greystone Financial Group, for their support! We look forward to continuing the event and expanding our involvement with the Upper Great Lakes Chapter of the National Scleroderma Foundation in the years to come.
