2024 FEBRUARY - LOLA
Lucky for me, my family (Jeff and Stacey Beaudoen) works from home and missed hearing the pitter-patter of little Maltese paws after deciding to wait for me so they could travel. Well, that lasted about 6 months. They found me in Indiana at a holistic breeder who took excellent care of my first days and weeks. Because I am a hypoallergenic Maltese, it's easy to take care of me and keep me groomed. Do you know you can use the same shampoo on me that you use on you? I was happy to overhear that Maltese pups like me have few medical issues. (Thank you Resident Reporter, Laura Jager)
2024 MARCH - COCO
My name is Coco. I am a beloved member of the Stewart Family who just happens to be this month's featured family. John, Jen, J.J. and Jaylynn adopted me from a breeder in Florida when I was just one year old back during the winter of 2019. I am a Prague ratter. My breed originates from the Czech Republic. We have not yet been able to find my breed type available in any system, such as at a pet store, on the rover app, or at a veterinary clinic since I’ve moved here. I guess I’m quite unique & special! The smallest breed in the world by breed standard, which is measured by height, unlike Chihuahuas, who are measured by weight.
2024 APRIL - PETS SHARE SPRINGTIME
"I love to sit on our front porch in the sunshine!" - Gamble (Silkowski Family)
"I look forward to new smells on snowless walks." - Ryder (Wieczorek Family)
"I love to go for walks and chase squirrels!" - Rosie (Kelch Family)
"I love to roll in the grass and lay in the sun." - Chewy (Gillespie Family)
"I love Spring because it means it's time to start the boat rides." - Goose (Chase Family)
2024 MAY - LOLA & DEMARCUS
My brother & I were born in Wisconsin, so our family drove all of the way from Michigan to pick us up. Neither one of us enjoyed the car ride home but there were lots of snuggles from our new brother and our new sister that kept us wondering and thinking car rides might not be so bad after all. By the time we arrived to our new home, we were happy. Inside, there were so many new toys waiting to be played with and a bed for DEMARCUS and a bed just for me, LOLA! I can't forget the treats or how fun it still is exploring. We know we are so lucky to be a part of the BISBEE Family!
2024 JUNE - DARTH VADAR
Please say hello to Darth Vadar! He was recently adopted by Lisa Gillespie who many of you may know was mom to Chewy who she misses very much. I'm sure Vadar will keep her and the family on their toes as they get to know one another better. I stopped by to welcome Vadar to the neighborhood and look forward to hearing what he has to say about living in Oakhurst. May the force be with him! Haha!
2024 JULY - LILY SKYE
Lily Skye looks to her "brother" Vinnie for guidance and he is helping her socialize in the world. She is totally obsessed with him, and he is as well with her. With Vinnie being two years old, bringing in a puppy is perfect because both of them have great energy and are still learning the world. When Mark and I feed both of them, they immediately change bowls, and they go after the same toy, always tugging at it. Everything they do, they do together. Lily is now a part of our Jager pack, and she fits right in. All her antics are just hilarious because she is all Westie!
2024 AUGUST - WAGS
Say Hello to Wags, the first family pet for The Shore Family. Wags was born on April 18, 2024 and two months later, we picked him up from a breeder in Tecumseh, MI on June 13th. In the very short time we have had him this summer, Wags has been on his first boat ride in our new boat and just last weekend he made his first trip in the car up to our cottage, sleeping most of the two and a half hour ride to Port Austin. The girls, Lila and Lulu are absolutely in love! Wags is the perfect pet and addition to our family! He is such a good boy!
2024 SEPTEMBER - MAVERICK
Do you remember the summer of Covid 2020? I sure do! My family brought me home for the very first time. I remember the day as if it was a moment ago and I've heard the story so many times I can tell it myself. It was the best day! The boys were told they were going to pick up some outdoor speakers. When they arrived, my litter mates and I were running all around and in and out of their legs, so excited to see them. After a little while, I realized I was the last one wagging and they picked me! It's been 4 years and guess what? I'm still the last one wagging! I love playing with Braeden, Elliot and Colin and can't think of a better family to live with.
2024 OCTOBER - SUNNY AND COOPER
Lately, Sunny chooses to nap on her bed and snack on treats over adventures she loved in the past. She has slowed down and loves to stay home but my favorite memories are Christmas mornings with Sunny. Cooper loves every opportunity to go on an adventure. He'll go anywhere and everywhere! It's all about exploring new places, meeting new people and getting to smell anything his heart desires! He can be loud, but he's all bark and no bite. He's a happy dog who just wants to play! He's always there to greet me when I come home from anywhere. (Shared by Audrey Willis)
2024 NOVEMBER - JACK & STELLA
Stella and I are so thrilled to live in Oakhurst with our two favorite people, Paul and Colleen Sturr. When they are not loving on us, My name is Jack and when we moved in a couple of years ago, I was only a year old, Stella is my little sister and she is only 6 months old. We're both English Springer Spaniels born at Hollar Springers in Battle Creek. We haven't met a treat we didn't like but if you asked us what our favorite might be, we would both say "greenies!" We share too. We play tugging games with our new Kevlar toys that are made for super chewers like us!
2024 DECEMBER - MINNIE WINNIE and OLIVE
The Montano family couldn’t pick up our new puppy until January 2, but the girls unwrapped a picture of their new puppy for Christmas morning! Sophia (left) was SO excited but Gia (right) not so much until she fell in love with MINNIE WINNIE! The Jordan boys met OLIVE on Christmas morning! There were plenty of kisses to go around! Pets are the best Christmas gift. They keep on giving, year after year.
