Where/why did you get your pet?
We adopted Kawhi from the Clermont Cat Café. He was rescued from a construction site with an injured front left leg, which had to be amputated. Despite his rough start, he’s the most loving and cuddly cat, and we knew he was meant to be part of our family.
Is there a story behind the name of your pet?
We named him Kawhi after the Japanese word for "cute" (kawaii), which suits him perfectly because he’s an adorable, loving tuxedo cat.
Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)?
Even with three legs, Kawhi is incredibly agile and doesn’t let anything slow him down. He loves chasing his laser pointer, sneaking up on feet while we’re sleeping, and going after midges that find their way into the house. He also enjoys sunbathing on the back porch and is always up for a cuddle session.
What do you like best about your pet?
His loving nature! He’s the perfect mix of playful and affectionate—he’ll chase his laser pointer like crazy but then curl up for cuddles right after.
Any funny stories?
Kawhi has a habit of attacking our feet when we’re sleeping, which can be quite the wake-up call! He also thinks he’s a fierce hunter when it comes to midges, even though they’re tiny. Watching him stalk and pounce on them is both impressive and hilarious.
Does your pet have any other "friends" in the neighborhood?
He’s mostly an indoor cat, but he gets along well with his brother and sister. He’s also very curious about any animals he spots from the back porch.
How spoiled is your pet?
Extremely! He gets plenty of treats, belly rubs, and all the laser pointer time he wants. He pretty much runs the house, and we’re all just living in it.
How has your pet enriched your home/family?
Kawhi has brought so much love and joy into our home. His resilience is inspiring, and his cuddly, playful personality keeps us entertained every day. He’s a reminder that even after a tough start, there’s always room for love and happiness.
