The Azores in Portugal
Where did you travel and how long were you there?
The Azores in Portugal about 1,000 miles off of Lisbon right in the middle of the Atlantic. I was there for nine days with my college roommate and 2 other friends.
What was your favorite restaurant or dish you tried?
The food is all really fresh, they grow everything locally and the seafood is delicious. The restaurants serve something called “fresh cheese”, which is similar to ricotta and it's served with bread and pepper sauce or preserves. It's on every restaurant’s menu as a starter and it is sensational.
What were your top experiences?
- The hiking is amazing. We hiked down into a volcano that was incredible.
- The landscape was so lush with beautiful flowers everywhere.
- The natural Hot Springs and aqua colored swimming holes offered some really unique swimming experiences.
- The food was delicious.
Would you recommend this trip to others?
