Gardening Within

When winter sets in, we often bring our outdoor plants indoors. While some plants remain green throughout Fall, they sometimes burst into bloom when welcomed into the warmth of our homes.

As March approaches, the gentle arrival of spring calls. Indoor planting acts as a bridge to the blossoms eagerly waiting to unfold outdoors.

Welcoming these green companions indoors not only brings vitality to our living spaces but also fosters an intimate connection with the changing seasons. In the simple act of caring for our indoor plants, we discover a connection to nature that elevates our living spaces, turning each day into a celebration of life.

It’s delightful to have these beautiful plants indoors during the winter, brightening every corner of our home and creating a new season within. Personally, I adore having our plants indoors; setting up my morning meditation space surrounded by these lovely plants is a joy. Sitting on the floor next to them, snapping pictures as their blooms appear, and sharing morning moments with them as my coffee companions make the winter special. Witnessing their growth is a delightful journey. When spring arrives, we carefully return them outdoors, emphasizing that it’s not just about surviving winter; it’s about thriving in every season, both inside and outside our homes.

During the winter, we love propagating  plants, and our favorite is the Coleus “Painted Nettle.” It’s a fun, green, and budget-friendly way to nurture nature. By spring, we have plenty to move outside.

We always miss the plants when they head back outdoors; they’re like little pieces of indoor sunshine and it’s hard to resist going out to buy more to replace them (wink wink).

As Hans Christian Andersen once wisely said, “Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.”

Springtime wishes,
