1. Resident Recipe

So Good, So Easy Salmon--There are many ways to prepare salmon. It can be pan fried, oven roasted, grilled, poached, and en papillote, which is a French method that requires enclosing salmon in a pouch so that it steams. But I have a favorite method because it is easy and it tastes delicious! It is flavorful, moist, flaky and has some crunch.

2. Feature Family

The Cate Family--Meet the delightful residents of Starwood, Mike and Linda Cates, along with their beloved 8-year-old Norwich Terrier, Buddy. The couple, originally hailing from the Lone Star State, has been proud Texans throughout their lives. Mike, born and raised in Frisco, comes from a family deeply rooted in the community, with both his parents sharing the same Frisco area origins.

3. Precious Pet

Meet Mango and Mushu. Mango and Mushu are both Leopard Geckos. They live with Andy, Kristi, Autumn, Macie and Lydia Xu. Mango and Mushu are very new members to the family. Macie got Mango as a birthday present from a friend about 2 months ago. Lydia got Mushu about 2 weeks ago from the same friend. The girls have always wanted a pet and they finally got not one, but two!. The family is still unsure of the age and gender of the geckos but think they are most likely females. They do know Mushu is quite a bit younger than Mango. 

4. Business Spotlight

esmé, the medspa--Amy Collins’ interest in medical aesthetics, skincare and aging with natural beauty was sparked during her first job at a day spa in Louisiana.  Fast forward to 2020: Amy was asked to join and manage a med spa in Frisco that was being flipped for re-opening.  She accepted and the spa survived.  One year later, Amy left to open her own spa. esmé, the medspa opened its doors in January 2022.

5. Kid 2 Kid

Ishaan Thakur--17-year-old Ishaan is a junior at Frisco High School, and his passions and accomplishments are truly marvelous!

 

Ishaan created his own technology company, FLIFER, and serves as the CEO. His company has been featured on NBC and CNBC, and he also holds a publication in the ICRCE conference work. In fact, Ishaan was able to travel to Tokyo to present his work at the International Conference on Renewable and Clean Energy convention.

6. Kids and Athletes

Halle Keveryn--Halle is a 7th grader at Hunt Middle School and is a passionate volleyball player, 7th-grade Hunt Husky cheerleader, and is planning to run track for Hunt Middle School as well. Wow, do her athletic activities keep her busy!!
