David and Margo were childhood friends, raised in Springfield, OH. Over the years they went their separate ways, but eventually reconnected in Texas. At the time, David had 20 years of experience as an electrician and had earned his master’s license. Margo owned a PR firm that worked with small businesses, building a network of business contacts in the community and with supportive government agencies. One night, over a glass of wine, they made plans to partner together to create their own electrical company. They formed the entity the next day! DM Electrical and Construction was founded 10 years ago and David and Margo have never looked back. Not just business partners, David and Margo are also life partners, having married the following year.
With more than 30 years of experience in design and installation of electrical systems, DM Electrical and Construction LLC is a Houston-area based electrical contractor serving owners, developers and general contractors in the region and the state of Texas. Services offered by DM Electrical and Construction include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Commercial: Electronically construct any type of structure, along with improvement work for any new or historical facility, on budget and on time.
- Build-outs: A complete array of build-out projects on commercial properties. Services include installation of data, fire alarm and security system conduits, new wiring and circuitry, updated lighting, and more.
- Residential: Electrical services ranging from electrical systems, lighting, remodels, troubleshooting, installing EV charging stations and generators. Free estimates provided.
- Design/Build: Full-service, custom design-build programs for all types of commercial, residential and special-use facilities.
- Electrical Systems Rehabilitation: Large and small projects of electrical rehabs involving electrical system upgrades of facilities to meet current code requirements or to get critical systems back online.
- Retrofits: Updating older equipment with new technology—a specialty of DM Electrical—including circuit breakers, motor controls, panel boards and switch gear, and LED lighting upgrades that can greatly reduce energy consumption and reduce energy costs.
- Light Industrial: Full-service power distribution services ranging from new systems to upgrades and expansions.

Today DM Electrical and Construction has 45 employees, many of who have been with the company from the start. Owning and operating a successful business is a 24/7 venture, but David and Margo make time every year to train for and participate in the annual MS150 bicycle run from Houston to College Station. They are both avid cyclists and have brought their passion to others in the company. Giving back to the community is important and DM Electrical is proud of their program to provide a “second chance” to low level offenders to get them back on their feet in a healthy and productive way.
