It was a Mexican Fiesta at Maiz & Barro during Stroll Palos Park’s Quarterly event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! 

September 24th the event spotlight was on Maiz & Barro Mexican Grill - Cantina in Oak Forest. Palos Park leaders, businesses, residents, and Palos enthusiasts convened at Maiz & Barro for an evening of food & fun, presented by Stroll Palos Park. Well known to Palos Park, husband and wife team Chef Mario Lopez and Pastry Chef Elvia Granados, the owners of Maiz & Barro, opened their doors, for the ‘packed’ Stroll Palos Park event, to welcome the attendees to an evening of authentic tastes of Mexico. Bienvenido!

Throughout the event, attendees exchanged friendship, stories, ideas, food, and drink, fostering a spirit of innovation, collaboration, and community spirit. This new vibrant Mexican restaurant wowed the event attendees with a taste of their amazing appetizers which exploded with flavors. The experience didn't stop there as attendees dove into Maiz & Barro’s dinners. From sizzling fajitas to mouthwatering tacos al pastor, everyone was treated to a journey through Mexico’s rich culinary tapestry provided by Chef Mario. 

The packed house was thirsty! Handcrafted Margaritas, cocktails, and Mexican beers were all being cheered throughout the evening. What an ‘asombroso’ Stroll Palos Park event! Thank you to all who attended for your support of Stroll Palos Park and of Maiz & Barro.
