Located on a sprawling 26 acres in the picturesque town of La Grange, KY, Scenic Hill Equestrian is a premier full-service facility specializing in Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation. Boarding: Scenic Hill Equestrian boasts a 52-stall barn with large, comfortable stalls and 26 acres of lush pasture. Full care is provided, including daily turn-out and stall maintenance to ensure the well-being of every horse. The facility features a 100’x200′ indoor arena, a derby field, 29 miles of scenic trails, a hot walker, heated wash racks, and a large round pen, catering to all aspects of horse care and training.

Lessons: Our lesson program is designed to provide personalized attention to each student. We offer private lessons using our well-trained school horses, ensuring a focused and tailored learning experience. This one-on-one approach allows us to cater to the individual needs and goals of each rider, fostering skill development and confidence in a supportive environment.

Training: Nikki Peterson, our head trainer, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Scenic Hill Equestrian. Certified by the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), Nikki has the skills and dedication to train horses at all levels, from green horses to seasoned competitors. Her extensive background, including working with Rolex winner Mary Lowry and American Equestrian Champion Kenneth Dierks, underscores her commitment to excellence.

Shows: Participating in horse shows is a rewarding way to showcase the hard work and progress made during lessons. Scenic Hill Equestrian regularly hauls to prestigious venues such as Lakeside Arena in Frankfort and the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. We provide comprehensive support, including trailering, stalling, and ring-side coaching, to ensure a smooth and successful show experience.

Nikki Peterson, co-owner, head trainer, and manager, has been immersed in the equestrian world for nearly 30 years. Starting her riding journey at the age of 5, she began competing at 10 and earned her professional teaching license at 18. Her dedication to the sport is evident in her impressive credentials and the professional standards she upholds. Nikki's passion for teaching is driven by witnessing the progression of her students and the bond they form with their horses. "Watching the progression of students drives my passion for teaching; watching the bond between horse and rider, students young and old, and seeing them also finding their love of horses," she says.
