Meet the Korant Family

Back in December 2014, Dhimant, Shital, and their twins, Kahaan and Krishva settled in our neighborhood. The Korant family is certainly one of the first families to move to Phillips Creek Ranch. The parents’ journey began in India, where Dhimant was born and raised and received part of his college education. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in engineering from The University of Pune. He then finished his education in the United States; obtaining a Master’s degree in engineering at University of Texas at Arlington then furthering his education at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an MBA. He currently is in product management for American Airlines. Shital had a similar start as she was also born and raised in Gujarat, India. Before moving to the United States in 2007, she received her Bachelor’s engineering and Master’s degrees in technology from Nirma University in India. Shital currently works for USAA.
The parents, along with their twins, love PCR! “We love the inclusive and social feel in the community. There are so many wonderful and supportive families in this neighborhood,” reiterates Shital. They are a busy household as mom practices martial arts with the twins! “We are training with Tiger Sun Martial Arts and currently hold higher red belt level.” Kahaan and Krishva both are also enjoy playing basketball and swimming.
Traditions and traveling are two of the things the Korant family adore. “We love family pictures tradition and we ensure we do at least one family picture at the same place in the home every year around Diwali.” They make or buy a Christmas ornament that marks and reminds them of a special event that happened that year. “It’s beautiful to remember the travel tales or memories every year when we hang these ornaments.” A few of their favorite places to snag an ornament or two are Hawaii, US/British Virgin Islands, and India! Staying in the States is also a top favorite. The family has a list of national parks they would like to take off their bucket list and are almost half through visiting them.
What does the family do for fun locally? The family loves to dine out at Chuy’s Tex Mex. Their favorite team to cheer on is our Dallas Mavericks. When music is on order, cue up Bollywood and country. Whatever the Korant family decide to do together, it will involve sports, traveling, watching Home Alone movies, and creating more family memories.
