Happy Father's Day!
Meet Ben Hawkins & his son, Luke
This month for Father's Day, we had the honor of meeting Ben Hawkins and his son, Luke. We had a fun Q&A session with them, and we can't wait for you to get to know them a little better!
Ben, first, tell us how long you have lived in PNP and what you love about being here!
I am originally from Louisville, KY, and have lived in the neighborhood for eight years. We love the location and the atmosphere, and we have the best neighbors around.
Is there anything your neighbors might know you for?
I'm an active member of Porters Neck Country Club. I captained four USTA teams, and over four years, we won our local league championships and played in the state tournaments.
Besides my activeness in the community, residents may know me through my career. I am a mortgage loan originator who goes by Lend with Ben. I'm the host of The Lend with Ben Show, formerly on 106.7 FM and now a streaming podcast.
Love this, Ben! Dive in a little more, and tell us about your career.
I am a branch manager at Cross Country Mortgage, and I love assisting families with the dream of homeownership. I also provide the best options and support to ensure a smooth and affordable closing experience.
That is so great. OK, Luke — your turn! Tell us a little bit about you!
Hi! I go to Wilmington Christian Academy, where I love playing soccer and tennis and being on the swim team. I love playing with my friends, going to school, and spending time with my mom, dad, and my sister, Brooke. My absolute favorite place to go is flip and fly, and I really love tweats — I mean treats! My perfect day is jamming out to worship music with my dad in the car, praying to Jesus at night before bed, and going out on the boat.
Ben: I agree there — a perfect day would be 85, sunny, light wind, and out on topsail inlet anchored out with my boy.
Ben, Happy Father's Day! Anything special you are doing to celebrate?
Thank you! More than anything, I love being a dad, and Luke makes it so easy. Now that I'm dreaming of the perfect day, if the weather permits, we will be out on the water!
Thank you so much, gentlemen! Anything else you would like to add?
We have lived back here for a long time, and Porters Neck is very near and dear to our hearts. The friendships we have made here have created memories that will last a lifetime.
