Elevated Concrete Coatings was founded by Kevin Scopin and Katie Polistena in 2021. The business is based in Loveland, Colorado, and serves the greater Front Range area, including the regions of Grandby, Grand Lake, and Winter Park. The team does everything from residential basements, garages, patios, and shops to industrial and commercial projects.

 

Before working in flooring, Kevin worked for eight years in the automotive body and paint industries. In those roles, he learned the ins and outs of coating. “That work set me up well for this business,” he said. “I learned how the products work and how to apply them for the best results, but the most important thing that work taught me was attention to detail. Our attention to every little aspect of every job makes us different.”

 

Katie moved to Colorado 11 years ago and worked in the hair service industry for most of those years. “Believe it or not, working in hair gave me the perfect background for this job,” she said. “I have a big network of former clients, and I also have a strong attention to detail.”

 

The pair met through mutual friends. “We both knew we wanted to own our own business, and we wanted to do something that would be successful but also make a big impact on people,” Kevin said. “Our skills and backgrounds are the perfect match,” she added.

 

For the first year in business, Katie and Kevin completed all the jobs themselves. Last year, Efrain Perez joined the team. Efrain has worked in epoxy flooring since 2005 and has experience working in all environments. While their work has exploded, Kevin leads the installation and project management aspect of the business, keeping a close eye on every job. Katie handles the lion's share of sales and business operations for the company. They now complete between 12-20 projects a month, depending on the size of their jobs.

 

Elevated Concrete Coatings specializes in high-quality polyaspartic and epoxy concrete coatings. These coatings provide a layer of protection for the concrete and can last up to 20 years if properly maintained. In the event something doesn’t meet our customers’ expectations, we’ll make it right.” In one case, a car jacket fell on a client’s garage floor, damaging the coating. Elevated Concrete came and repaired the floor straight away.

 

Katie and Kevin are committed to the community. They support Realities for Children and give back as much as they can. They recently hosted a fly-fishing event for Health for Heroes, allowing 15 veterans to learn the sport and enjoy a peaceful day on the river together.

 

When they’re not working, they both love being outside and exploring all Colorado offers. Fly fishing is their favorite pastime, with hiking and camping close seconds. Katie has a daughter named Olive (11), who Katie jokes is the real boss of the business.
