Jennifer and Josh Dees are trained and licensed Edward Jones Financial Advisors. They own and manage the Edward Jones office located at Crossroads and I-25. They have served Northern Colorado since 2013 and have helped hundreds of people with financial planning. The Dees family is also proud to be residents of the Ptarmigan Hills community.

 

Jennifer grew up in a small town in Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming, where she trained as a pharmacist. Josh grew up in Georgia and also attended UW on a basketball scholarship. The pair met in college and have been inseparable ever since. Jennifer spent the early part of her career working in a retail pharmacy; her main goal was to help people feel better and live healthier lives.

 

Following a long basketball coaching career, Josh became an Edward Jones Financial Advisor. Josh completed the training, and the Dees family settled in Ptarmigan Hills. They opened their Edward Jones branch in 2014. Josh worked for many years before he finally convinced Jennifer to join him.

 

“Working in the pharmacy was hard,” she admitted. “I wanted to help people but the way the system is set up, I couldn’t. I only had a few minutes to fill each prescription and no time to talk to my patients. I couldn’t make a difference in that setting; it was so frustrating.” Jennifer said.

 

She saw the impact Josh was having on his clients and she decided that she wanted to do the same. In 2020, Jennifer became an Edward Jones Financial Advisor.

 

Today, they serve more than 1,000 clients with financial planning services. Jennifer and Josh note that they could not do it without their office administrator, Aurelia Rodriguez. “She’s so organized; she helps us and our clients so much,” said Jennifer. “We appreciate her more than we could ever say.”

 

Recently, Jennifer decided she was ready to do even more for their clients. She spent more than a year completing the rigorous Certified Financial Planner™ coursework and testing. “It is a year-long program,” she said. “I learned an incredible amount of information to better serve our clients with that total package of financial planning – it goes way beyond just investments and gave me so many more tools to help people plan for the future.”

 

“It’s one of the hardest tests that a financial planner can take, and very few financial advisors have a Certified Financial Planner™ designation,” she added. Jennifer passed the CFP® test in March of 2024.

 

 “It was so hard, and it took a lot of time, but I’m incredibly glad I did it,” Jennifer said. “I have always been committed to serving our clients well, but now I can do even more for them. I can help families and individuals achieve that holistic, stable approach to retirement planning.”

 

Josh and Jennifer are also proud supporters of the local organization, the Grace Upon Grace Project. This nonprofit provides diapers, wipes, and period products to those in need in the Northern Colorado community. Jennifer and her daughter, Karlynn, volunteer their time to help distribute products.

 

“It’s a wonderful organization,” said Jennifer. “I appreciate what they’re doing in our community – as a mom myself, I know how important diapers and wipes are and how expensive they are. It seems like such a small thing, but I know it makes a world of difference for those who receive support.”

 

Between work and their family, Jennifer and Josh stay busy. They have two kids, Ben (12) and Karlynn (10). They love to be outside and travel, and both kids are active in sports. Jennifer and Josh are also passionate supporters of their kids’ school and teams.
