Meet Maggie: The Adorable Mini Goldendoodle Who's Stealing Hearts

Meet Maggie, a joyful and energetic 5-year-old Mini-Goldendoodle who is a beloved member of the Eckhardt family. Maggie will celebrate her 6th birthday on February 26th, and she has brought immeasurable joy to the lives of her owners, George and Kelly Eckhardt.

Maggie’s journey to the Eckhardt home began when they discovered an excellent breeder in North Fort Collins who is no longer in business. After a friend purchased a puppy from this breeder, George and Kelly were smitten by the adorable dog. A few hours later, they eagerly joined the waiting list for the next litter, and Maggie soon became part of their family.

Her name carries special significance. As avid gardeners, George and Kelly wanted a botanical-themed name. When they first saw Maggie, she simply looked like a "Maggie." Her middle name, Mae, honors Kelly's mother, and "Lambkins" is a playful nod to a beloved stuffed toy of their youngest grandson.

One of Maggie's most endearing qualities is her happiness. She’s known for her “zoomies,” bursts of energy where she races around, and for her love of people. Maggie has become a regular visitor to Kelly’s father and the residents at a local assisted living facility, spreading joy with every wag of her tail. She's also known to bring packages from the front porch and give a cute little salute when she wants a treat. Also, despite her cuddly demeanor, Maggie is a surprisingly athletic dog. Fast and agile, she loves to run and play.

When asked what they like most about Maggie, Kelly replies, “It’s hard to pick one thing, but one of the sweetest things is that she is a ‘Velcro' dog. She loves to be near us and is always at our heels, cuddling on the couch and snuggling with us in bed.” Her constant companionship is one of her most cherished traits.

Maggie has a talent for finding herself in amusing situations. One afternoon, she was accidentally left alone in the front yard. When George and Kelly noticed she wasn’t inside, they panicked. But they quickly found her with her paws up on the fence, patiently waiting for them to let her back in. Maggie always knows how to keep her family on their toes!

As for spoiling, Maggie is undoubtedly no exception. She enjoys the maximum amount of love and care, all of which she fully deserves. Her presence has been especially valued since joining the family in 2019. George states, “During the challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maggie’s playful spirit and companionship helped us keep our spirits high.” Long walks, playtime, and even chasing her glow ball at night became cherished activities that kept the family connected and uplifted.

Maggie has proven to be not just a pet but a true source of joy, comfort, and companionship for the Eckhardt family.
