No One Will Treat You Better Than Limelight Services

Jason grew up in Ohio and moved out here in his early twenties. “I had a friend who came to Colorado before me, and he asked if I’d be his roommate. He called me at the right time. I was looking for a change and ready to make a move,” Jason said in detail. “I’ve been here ever since.”
 
That call changed more than Jason’s address – it changed the course of his life. “My first job in Fort Collins was with a local HVAC company. My friend encouraged me to switch careers and join him as his apprentice in the electrical trade.  I immediately fell in love with the work and knew I wanted to make a career out of it,” Jason said.
 
Jason believes that everyone working in the trades should have the goal of becoming the master of that discipline. The process to become a master electrician takes, at minimum, five years. “It took me about seven because I had so much to learn,” he said. “I’m so glad I did it, though. I have the skills and knowledge to help people with one of the most important basic necessities.”
 
Once he earned his master license, Jason was ready to go out on his own. In 2008, he founded Limelight Services. “I opened the company just before the housing crisis. That was a fun time to start a business,” he said with a laugh. “It took us a few years to figure it out, but it ended up being a good experience for us. I always say, ‘We know what to do when times are tough – take care of our clients, and the rest follows.’”
 
Jason worked alone for the first two years. In 2010, he hired his first employee. Now he has a team of 27, serving all of Northern Colorado. They’re one of the very few family and locally-owned companies that provide three key services – plumbing, electrical, and heating and air.
 
“In this industry, it’s exceedingly rare to find a family-owned company that’s run right here in our community. Most have been bought out, which means they’ve lost that personal touch and accountability. Limelight is local. That makes a big difference,” he said.
 
Limelight Services has turned into a family business. Jason’s wife, Melissa, handles all the accounting management for the team. Their son, Brody, is an electrical apprentice and also assists with accounting. Ben has been with the Limelight team for over nine years; he’s a licensed electrician and helps train new employees. Joel, who started as an apprentice over eight years ago, now serves as their operations manager. “I really believe in these people and stand by their work. They’re the best in the business,” Jason said.

When they’re not working, the Visnic family loves to camp, travel, and spend time outdoors. They love animals and try to feature their golden retriever, FJ, as often as possible in their advertising.  Jason is very into music and plays drums and bass guitar in a local band.
