Meet the Bautista Family: A Warm Welcome to Reflection Ridge

We are thrilled to introduce you to the Bautista family, our newest neighbors at Reflection Ridge. With a rich tapestry of experiences, talents, and a deep commitment to community service, Carlos, Luz, and their children Carlos G., Miguel, and Maria have quickly become a cherished part of our neighborhood.

Carlos Bautista: A Man of the Skies and the Heart
Carlos Bautista, 42, is a distinguished Air Ambulance Pilot and Base Aviation Manager in Dodge City, KS. Originally from Colombia, Carlos's journey to Reflection Ridge is as inspiring as it is adventurous. His career in aviation began after completing his studies at the Escuela de Administración de Negocios in Colombia and later, earning dual Master's degrees in Information Technology and Business Administration from Emporia State University. Carlos's dedication to his profession and his community is evident in his work, flying patients to critical care facilities across several states.

Carlos’s path to meeting Luz, his wife of 20 years, is a love story grounded in destiny. They met at his military academy, where Luz was practicing veterinary medicine. A serendipitous encounter over a military dog in need of care sparked a connection that blossomed into a lifelong partnership. Carlos admires Luz for her unwavering energy and their profound conversations, qualities that have only deepened over their 24-year relationship.

Luz Canon: The Compassionate Caregiver
Luz Canon, 44, shares her husband's passion for service. Though currently preparing for a Master's exam in veterinary medicine, she dedicates her time to church service, reflecting her deep-rooted commitment to helping others. Luz’s background in veterinary medicine from San Martin University in Colombia complements her nurturing nature, which extends to their family and pets.

The Bautista household is filled with the joy of their beloved Blue Heeler, Chandelle, named after a pilot maneuver. Carlos G., their eldest son, introduced Chandelle to the family after a classmate's litter caught his eye. Back in Colombia, their farm is home to four dogs—Roque, Nacho, Bombom, and Cloyd—now cared for by renters.

The Bautista Children: Bright Futures Ahead

Carlos G. Bautista, 15, is a student at Maize South High School, where he excels in tennis and student council. His adaptability and charismatic nature shine through in his community service efforts. Miguel E. Bautista, 9, and Maria C. Bautista, 6, both attend Maize South Elementary School. Miguel’s passion for swimming and aviation, coupled with Maria’s love for dance and music, showcase the diverse talents and interests of the Bautista children.

A New Chapter in Reflection Ridge
The Bautista family moved to Reflection Ridge seven months ago, drawn by the welcoming energy and the perfect fit of their new home. Their transition to Wichita was a significant step, motivated by Carlos’s job at the headquarters of his current company. Prior to this, they lived in Emporia, Kansas, while Carlos pursued his studies.

As they settle into their new life, the Bautistas are embracing the community’s warmth and the beauty of their surroundings. They enjoy exploring Ford County Lake in Dodge City and the neighborhood playground, often seen biking or hiking together. The family also cherishes their travels, having made memorable trips to Orlando’s Disney Parks, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone Park, and Hawaii.

Community Involvement and Traditions
The Bautistas are deeply involved in their community. Luz contributes her time to church services, while the family enjoys celebrating holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays with travel and cultural experiences. They frequent local eateries like Olive Garden and George’s French Bistro and shop at Walmart, Sam’s, and Dillons.

Their favorite family recipe, Ajiaco Santafereño, a Colombian chicken and potato soup, reflects their cultural heritage and love for shared meals.

Looking Ahead
The Bautista family embodies respect, honesty, and service to the community. They cherish the kindness and camaraderie they’ve found in Reflection Ridge and look forward to building lasting friendships. For those new to the neighborhood, the Bautistas offer a warm welcome to a peaceful, well-located community.

We are delighted to have the Bautistas among us and look forward to many shared moments and stories. Welcome to Reflection Ridge, Carlos, Luz, Carlos G., Miguel, and Maria!
