From the Bay Area to the Panhandle

Football is what bonds us and community is what drives us

So for me and the club. In 2016 I went to a business that has since shut down, Rivelles River Grille, that was located by the Starbucks (which is now Pho le). We went in for Easter Brunch and one of the people there that ran the business had a niner wrist band on and when he found out that we both liked the Niners we became instant friends. Derik Lavers and I began talking about having a weekend where we gather for football games and he talked his owner into allowing us to start a sports club there at his business that would host the season games. The first year we went 2-14 and had to sync google home devices to get the games with one tv playing the sound only. We didn’t have the greatest sound for the game or the biggest venue but we were excited. Derik and I talked a lot about owning the town and having the best spot. We now have anywhere from 75 to 125 people weekly and for playoffs closer to 150. We have music, food, beer and a community of the greatest people in the area that makes a great impact in the community. We are bigger than a sports club. We make an impact in the city we live in.

As things went along we started doing community outreach and projects within the club to allow us to impact the community. Since 2016 we have raised now over $11000 from merchandise donations, raffles, cash donations to local nonprofit organizations that include but don’t stop at: Childrens Village CDA, Mana Wildfire Logistics, Red and Blue Foundation, Toys for Tots, North Idaho Veterans Assistance League, Newbyginnings, Adopt-a-family and Underground Railroad. The club is a part of the Niner Empire since inception of the club. The Niner Empire helps with scheduling meetups with legends, BBQ’s nationally and invasions when the Niners go on the road. We get together every week at the Iron Horse CDA now after bouncing around from CDA to Post Falls and back to CDA. You can catch Derik on the mic most weekends and people that walk around town in out NI49F swag (North Idaho 49ers Faithful). We are open to doing other projects and fundraising events. We take 100% of the proceeds and give back to the community and members of the club and keep none of it for ourselves. The team of four that you can see on a weekly basis is Derik Lavers (Co-Founder), Rickey Gallia (Vice President) and Nick Goodwin (Captain) as well as group ambassadors Diana Kelsey, Tony Wagner, Will Adams and Octavian Rivas. We have one sponsor that has helped up tremendously through fund raising and events with ICCU.

Weather we are in shorts and tshirts or in our ugly sweaters having a moment of joy with the touchdown that was scored, we are always….
