How has Pilates changed your body, mindset, or overall well-being?
"Pilates has improved my core strength, balance, and flexibility. It has also taught me how to slow down and focus on my mind-body connection both during class and in my everyday life." - Cara Aycomb

What’s one misconception about Pilates that you’d love to debunk?
"The one misconception about Pilates is that people think it’s too difficult. But I tell my friends that it is so good for them. There are different levels of difficulty. When I started, I was looking for something besides using weights at the gym and daily walking. My doctor advised that Pilates would be great for me because I have a back injury. I love my Pilates classes and even though we travel, I try not to miss class very often." - Cheryl Thompson

What inspired you to start practicing Pilates, and how has it impacted your daily life?
"Over a year ago, I began physical therapy with Brandie at Belle Vie to help with my recurring back pain. This eventually led to personal Pilates instruction and attending group classes. The strength and flexibility I’ve gained from Pilates have been instrumental in maintaining pain relief! Having Belle Vie within walking distance is a dream, and forming new friendships by taking classes with neighbors has been a wonderful bonus!" - Amy Guidry

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering Pilates, what would it be?
"Life is so busy. Trying to fit a workout into my day can be difficult. To be truly healthy, I know I need to work my cardiovascular system, strengthen my muscles, and stretch my joints. To me, Pilates is a great choice for full-body fitness. It’s a very time and body-efficient way to work out. In one hour, you can get a high-intensity cardio workout with a strength/resistance component and a full-body stretch. Plus nothing works your abs like Pilates! And, you feel amazing when you leave a class. So, if someone is looking for an efficient way to get a complete workout in one hour Pilates is an excellent choice." - Laura Daly

What inspired you to start practicing Pilates, and how has it impacted your daily life?
"I was inspired to start practicing Pilates after suffering a broken kneecap in 2018. I had been practicing Yoga, but the break prevented me from being able to do that then. Starting a Pilates practice later was the best thing I could have done! It has helped me tremendously in my body and mindset! I would recommend it to anyone! Brandie and her crew at Belle Vie are awesome! They’re so knowledgeable, friendly, and professional!" - Claire Latch
