Life with Tallulah
Whether it’s making new friends, snuggling on laps, or cruising in the car, Tuta fills every moment with love, laughter, and pure delight.
Name: Tallulah Rose Cormier (female)
Breed: Terrier mix (pit bull)
Age: 3 years old
Human: Stacy Cormier
Howdy, y’all! My name’s Tallulah Rose Cormier, but you can call me Tuta—my friends do! I’m a terrier mix, which basically means I’ve got the look of a pit bull with a splash of “champagne elegance” (okay, it’s really just fawn, but who’s counting?). I was adopted from Vermillion Animal Aid back in January 2023 when I was around two years old, and I’ve been living the high life ever since. My mom says I’ll be four in January 2025, but let’s not rush things—I’ve still got a lot of zoomies left in me!
How I Found My Forever Home
My mom moved back to Lafayette in November 2022 after living in Texas for 25 years. She was on the hunt for a furry friend to keep her company, and boy, did she hit the jackpot with me! She found my cute mug on the Vermillion Animal Aid website, and after a few weeks of paperwork, I was hers. She even snapped a picture of my “Got Ya Day,” so you can say I’ve been a star from the start.
The Story Behind My Fancy Name
When it came time to name me, my mom knew she wanted something Southern and sassy—just like me. Her mom suggested “Tallulah,” and the rest is history. I mean, have you seen my pink nose? It was only fitting to add “Rose” for a little extra flair. But if you’re in the know, you’ll call me Tuta. It’s my special nickname for friends, and it really rolls off the tongue, don’t you think?
Quirks, Tricks, and Other Shenanigans
I’ve got a talent for making friends and never forgetting them. Whether it’s a neighbor, a doggie buddy, or a total stranger, once you’re on my list, you’re on it for life. My mom takes me on walks around the neighborhood, and let me tell you, those streets are filled with my peeps. I’ll spot a friend from a mile away, and I’m not above dragging Mom across the street just to say hello.
But my true talent? Burning off steam with what we like to call my “Get It Girl” routine. It’s like zoomies, but with a twist—I sprint back and forth in giant circles, kicking up dust and showing off my speed. It’s my version of a cardio class, and I’m the star instructor.
The Daily Grind of Being Spoiled
Life’s not too shabby for me. I start my mornings with a walk (or two if I’m feeling fancy), and then it’s all about tennis balls. Mom tosses them, and I bring them back like a pro. I’m a bit of a car enthusiast, too—if a door’s left open, I’m in. I don’t care if it’s a quick trip to the grocery store or a cross-country road trip; I’m just along for the ride. You’ll find me in the passenger seat, tongue out, wind in my fur, living my best life!
Office Life and Loud Snores
My mom works from home, and I’m basically her office assistant. I hang out in her office, keeping her company while she works. She says I’m her best friend, and that’s not just because I get her out of her chair for our daily walks. She says I keep her active and sane, but really, we’re just the perfect team—helping each other get through the day with smiles and tail wags.
Now, let’s talk about my secret talent: snoring. I can snore as loud as a grown human. I’ve been known to interrupt Zoom meetings with my snorts and snores, and Mom often has to apologize for me. It’s just part of my charm, really.
Lap Lounging and Big Hearts
Some of my favorite people are my grandma and her boyfriend, MP. If MP’s around, you’ll find me on his lap, snoozing away without a care in the world. I’m a big softie, and even though I’ve got that classic “pittie” look, I’m more marshmallow than menace. I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body—unless you count aggressively cuddling my favorite people.
So, next time you see me trotting around the neighborhood, don’t be shy—come say hi! I promise, I’ll remember you forever and might just drag Mom across the street for a visit. After all, life’s too short not to make as many friends as possible. And trust me, I’m the friend you didn’t know you needed!
Until our next tail wag,
Tallulah
