Kendal • Christian, wife, mother, and business owner. • Extroverted, social, loves going out.
•Country music•Kendal enjoys spending time with friends and families outdoors, she enjoys spending time in her garden, and finding fun ways to slow life down with her family. • Had both her kids unmedicated and this is single handedly her most proud accomplishment. • Enjoys drawing and painting to calm down her mind. • Met her husband on Tinder back in 2015 LOL!
AJ • Christian, husband, father • Very low-key, humble, doesn’t like attention.• Rap and hip-hop• AJ went from starting NFL right guard to stay at home dad and he couldn’t be happier • He enjoys playing NBA 2k in his free time • He is still very passionate about college football but particularly high school football and watching young athletes come into their athletic abilities. Those are fond memories of when he went through the recruiting process.• He still works out every day at 4:30am • He is a PROUD Gamecock • He has picked up grilling and smoking meat as a hobby and after many failed attempts his wife says he is a self-proclaimed master at ribs and chicken wings.
Kennie • 5 years old & going into kindergarten • Birthday is on Valentine’s day. • Social, Mischievous, Beautiful, Intelligent, Curious, Kind, Thoughtful, Momma's girl. • She’s in ballet, tap, horseback riding lessons.•She loves to swim • She loves arts and crafts • She loves to ask questions • Obsessed with princesses, mermaids, singing, and putting on makeup (she's VERY girlie).
Artist • 3 years old • Birthday is 10/05 • Social, knows no stranger (which is terrifying!), Momma’s Boy, Athletic, very large (he wears 6t), destructive, loves to push the boundaries • No matter where I hide in the house, Artist wakes up at 3am and finds me. • Obsessed with dinosaurs, dirt, swimming (with a floaty), building towers all the way to the ceiling, loves horses, eating fruit, & he loves taking baths with bath bombs.
How long have you lived in the neighborhood? Where are you and your family originally from, and what brought you here?
1 year, I am from Seminole FL - a suburb of St. Petersburg FL, AJ Cann is from Bamberg SC, a small city outside of Orangburg SC. I moved here when I gave AJ an ultimatum. I was working in St. Pete at Raymond James Financial Services, and had an opportunity to move to NY city (a finance girls dream). AJ had just gotten drafted to the Jacksonville Jaguars and was already living next to Town Center. I asked him if this was going to get more serious, and if not then I was going to move to NY City to take the next step in my career. He asked me to marry him and I moved to Jacksonville within 2 months. 6 months later I was pregnant with Kennie and scared, we weren't married and that was important to me. We went to the courthouse to make it official. Everything felt scary and rushed so at the last minute we got all dressed up in white and we had a little ceremony with AJ, myself, and an officiant at the main RiverTown dock. We had no idea we would live down the street from that dock 5 years later. Full Circle moment.
What college / university did you attend? What subject(s) did you major in, and what degree(s) did you obtain?
I double majored in Finance and Economics at FSU. AJ majored in Sociology at USC.
If applicable, how did you and your spouse meet?
TINDER! We used to lie about it - we had this long elaborate story, but then we stopped caring and embraced our not so conventional love story.
What's your profession(s), and where do you work? Do you own a local business?
In Q1 2024 I launched my own Investment Advisory Firm called Privileged Planning Inc. after over 10 years of working for someone else’s firm.This is a female owned and operated wealth management firm. We are a fiduciary firm that focuses on working with entrepreneurs and their families in building wealth personally and professionally. We are also one of 10 Dave Ramsey endorsed financial advisors in the 3 surrounding counties.
How do you celebrate holidays or special occasions as a family?
Everyone comes to my house for all holidays because we have the only grandchildren currently. My parents live in Palm Harbor FL.
What are your favorite places to visit around the community (restaurants, food markets, shops, parks, clubs, hangout spots, etc.)?
We are homebodies, at least until RiverTown gets built up more. We have people over frequently, I am involved in leadership in BNI, our chapter is called BNI Networth. I am on the board of a non-profit called First Coast Honor Flight, where we take sick or aging veterans to see the memorials for free. Lastly, I am a Preferred Vendor of the ST Johns BFF Group, a local networking organization for faith-based women business owners.
Describe your favorite family memory in the neighborhood so far. What's your favorite part of living in the neighborhood?
Getting married on the dock. I love watching our kids tumble down the RiverHouse playground hill.
