Meet Cole Jr.!

Who are the proud parents / siblings of this new arrival?
Mom - Laura Slate, Dad - Cole Slate, Dog - Fenway Slate

How long has your family lived in the neighborhood? What do you like most about living here?
We built our first home in RiverTown in 2018. We've been living in our second home in RiverTown for four years now. We really enjoy the community, our neighbors, and the sense of family here.

What's the baby's full name? Why did you choose this name?
Cole Willis Slate Jr, I call him JR

Can you share the date and time your newest member joined the family?
01/16/2024

What were the baby's weight and length measurements at birth?
7lbs 11oz and 19 inches

Do you want to share any sweet or funny anecdotes from the first days at home with the new arrival?
JR is an absolute delight! He's always spreading joy with his infectious laughter and radiant smile. Bath time turns into a lively play session with him, and his adoration for all things Panda is just too adorable. Each day is a new adventure with JR, and we're cherishing every single moment with him.

How are older siblings, if any, reacting to the arrival of their new brother or sister?
Fenway, our cuddly 55 lb Golden Retriever, wasn't exactly sold on his new sibling at first. But now? He's head over paws in love! He's figured out the secret to earning treats: slobbery kisses on his brother's face. He's practically drooling with excitement for the day when his little bro starts dropping the good stuff – real food!

Did you receive, or already have, any specific baby keepsakes or gifts with sentimental value or a special story behind them?
My dad's love for baseball runs deep, so when it came time to share our baby news, we knew just how to surprise him: with a baseball-themed announcement. When JR entered the world, my dad arrived at the hospital with a baseball specially for him. It's a gesture filled with love and meaning, one that holds a cherished place in my heart and will be proudly displayed in JR's room as a reminder of the bond between generations.

Are there any neighbors you care to mention who helped with or celebrated the new addition to the family?
Our neighbors went above and beyond in their thoughtfulness by organizing a meal train for us when we returned home from the hospital. Their support was truly invaluable during those initial weeks of adjusting to our new lives. I am incredibly grateful for their kindness—it made all the difference during that challenging but incredible time.
