Living the Rolling Hills horsey lifestyle — Cutter and Archie
Our barn was completed in 2017 but it wasn’t until the Fall of 2019 that it became a home for horses. Lucky for me that they were settled in before the Great Pandemic Lockdown of 2020!
Cutter and Archie came to live with us from two different backgrounds but they have become great companions for each other. I was on the hunt for my perfect trail horse when Adriana and Greg Popovich invited me to ride Cutter, an AQHA registered buckskin Quarter Horse, in the Summer of 2019. I will be forever grateful to them when they offered to sell him to me. Adriana said that Cutter loved me from the start. All I know is that this beautiful horse became a trusted partner on the trails from the first day. Since then we have had many great rides and adventures together. During the worst lockdown period riding on our beautiful trails was the best therapy and outlet one could ask for.
Archie came to live with us from a drastically different background. I was seeking a companion for Cutter and fortunately came into contact with a veterinarian in Perris who had rescued Archie from what I will only describe as a very bad end to his life. When he stepped out of the trailer and walked down with me to the corral, I knew he was going to be part of our household. He and Cutter bonded right away. We named him Archie and he has stolen our heart. I wish I knew his background, as he is friendly and likes kids, so he must have been somebody’s cherished pet at some point in his life. He is a Shetland pony, but we call him our big Welshie, as he looks just like Conor and Poppy, our Welsh Springer Spaniels, now 14 and 9. Our beloved first Welsh Springer Spaniel, Dylan, passed away at 15 in the Summer of 2020. We miss him to this day.
Cutter and Archie love living the Rolling Hills horsey lifestyle. Hope to see you on the trails!
