I have lived in a myriad of places throughout my life, primarily due to my father’s career, but my roots are deeply entrenched in the South Bend, Indiana area. It was a gift to experience so many areas around the country and learn about the various cultures and ways of life! This is my first time living in Texas and I am excited to explore more with my family. The Austin area has so much to offer families from the music, food, and thriving business community to our first-class creative ecosystem, there is truly something for everyone.

Considering myself to be someone who has always “learned by doing,” I was drawn to the teaching methods of the International Baccalaureate for its empathetic, innovative, and collaborative learning culture. When finishing my graduate studies at Harvard, the opportunity arose to help start a new international school in Hamburg, Germany, with similar principles. My family and I spent six wonderful years developing that project and enjoying life abroad in Europe! When the opportunity arose to move to Austin and join The International School of Texas, it was a clear and natural next chapter for our family’s adventure! The community here shares so many of the same values and characteristics, from the warm embrace of the faculty and staff to the inclusive, joyful, and compassionate student culture, we already feel at home! Prior to our time in Germany, I studied in five different disciplines at various universities, and worked as a carpenter, youth volunteer, salesman, soccer coach, teacher, and administrator. Each of these experiences has helped prepare me for this unique role and time at IST.
