The Western Norwegian Fjords

One of the most beautiful places Pam has ever been.

Someone asked me which of my travels was the most picturesque and I have to say that our visit to the Western Norwegian fjords has left an indelible memory of nature at its best.
A fjord is a deep, narrow and elongated inlet cut into the landscape with steep mountains on three sides. We traveled to the fjords in every way possible on our trip to Norway. We drove from Oslo, towards Bergen and stopped by car to view the fjords from one of many scenic spots known as Stegenstein Point. We took a fjord cruise past small villages, huge waterfalls, and lovely greenery. We also took the railway tram to small towns that surround the fjords to capture another aspect of these awe-inspiring waterways. The Geirangerfjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so at this point, I will let them speak for themselves.
