The Core 4! Kristin, Andrew, Jayden, and Quinn Wood

A family that lives their lives around adventure!

Traveling to new locations globally, boating and wake surfing, scuba diving, skiing, snowboarding, utv, atv, dirt bike riding, hiking.  These are a few of the Wood’s favorite things. Hence the name The Core 4. “Andrew and the boys have gotten me to try a lot of things I never believed I would try when I was younger,” Kristin admitted.

Kristin’s younger years were lived in Naperville, IL, when it was a farm community. In her twenties, Kristin moved to San Francisco for a bit, then came back to Chicago. Oddly enough, her friends growing up were now Andrew’s friends. “Ironically we had lived in the same places and attended the same college but did not know one another,” Kristin shared. A mutual friend introduced them. Now they’ve been married for 15 years and have two boys, Jayden, 17, and Quinn, 9.

Andrew was born and raised in Decatur, IL. He was informed on his first date with Kristin that she wanted to move back to the Bay area. Finally, after a trip to Hawaii when Jayden asked why they still lived in Chicago, the decision was made. On their 10-year wedding anniversary they secured jobs in the Bay area and made the move to Ruby Hill.

“We love so many things about Ruby Hill, but two things stand out in particular - the safety and beauty,” Kristen remarked, and added, “We have felt at home since we moved in.  There is a sense of calm and peace that comes with living in our community that we longed for in Chicago.” Pulling into the neighborhood gives them a sense of pride, especially when family and friends arrive. “When they get to see the beauty of the bridge and golf course with the mountains behind is something that we have never felt before,” Kristen said. “We are grateful for this every day.”  When Kristin's sister asked to have her wedding celebrations in the community, the family was thrilled that she wanted to share it with her family and friends. “We love to share our neighborhood.”

The whole family loves to travel, and they take as many trips globally as they can.  “We have been fortunate that work and friends have brought us to many countries across Europe, Asia, India, North and South America.”  All of the Woods try new local things on every trip so the boys can experience life globally. “It’s important for them to learn more about where our friends and family are from.”

Kristin, Andrew, Jayden, and Quinn are living their best lives not only in Ruby Hill, but also everywhere they go.
