What Should I Read for September?

Crave Arena by Kelly St Clare (Supernatural Battle Series)

Tell us a little about yourself!
Hello, I'm Jennifer Petzar.  Paul, Nathan, Emilia and I have been residents of Running Man for 7 years now.  Reading has been a hobby of mine for several years.  My Kindle Paperwhite is one of my most prized possessions.

What do you typically like to read and why?
I am an avid Romantasy reader (Sarah J Maas and Jennifer L Armentrout fan).  I read mainly to get away for a little while.  Visit far off places with magic and dragons or where vampires may be your neighbors.  I love a good young adult fantasy novel but also read novels with plenty of trigger warnings.

What is your book recommendation for this month?
One book I am looking forward to reading this year is Crave Arena by Kelly St Clare.  It is the final trilogy in her Supernatural Battle series.

What's the plot in a nutshell?
I can't say much about the plot as it isn't out yet.  I can speak about the other three trilogies in the Supernatural Battle series.  They each involve a supernatural race, vampires, werewolves and witches respectively.  The first trilogy, Supernatural Battles: Vampire Towers, involves two rival vampires clans and the real estate game they have been playing for centuries.  The individual trilogies are connected with character crossovers.

Sounds interesting - tell me more!
The main character, Basilia, accidentally finds herself embroiled in game play and changes it forever.  The first book in the Supernatural Battles: Vampire Towers trilogy is Blood Trial.

Why did you like this book, and why would you recommend it to others?
The author does an amazing job of developing a plot around a game similar to Monopoly in the Vampire Tower trilogy or weekly "laser tag" competitions in the Werewolf Dens trilogy.  These are novels more suited to adults and have spicy scenes.  The creativity and humor always make me come back for me.

What if I need more than one book to get me through the month?
Besides the Supernatural Battle series (9 books published so far), Kelly St Clare has plenty of other reading material available.   The first series I read by her was The Tainted Accords, her debut series.  It's a young adult fantasy series with creativity and wonderful world building suitable for younger readers.  It's definitely a "why didn't I read this sooner" series. So if you want to escape into a new book with a little bit of romance, check a novel by Kelly St. Clare.
