Publisher's Note
As we welcome February, we’re thrilled to share an issue filled with stories that will inspire you to smile, reflect, and maybe even dance a little!
First, we spotlight Ashley Paris, a young dancer whose seven-year journey in ballet is about much more than graceful pirouettes. Ashley’s passion is a beautiful reminder of how pursuing something we love can shape us in the most unexpected ways.
Next, we take you behind the scenes of a love story straight out of Hollywood—except this one has a very real Richmond twist. Nisha, a screenwriter, and Jason, an assistant director, met on the set of Turn: Washington’s Spies over a decade ago. Now, they’re back in Virginia as a family of four, and their journey from film to real life is as cinematic as it gets!
We’re also excited to introduce one of our newest sponsors, The Exercise Coach, a local fitness gem that’s redefining how we approach wellness. Since opening in 2023, they’ve created a smarter, more efficient workout experience that’s personalized and—dare we say—enjoyable!
Another local treasure is the stunning transformation at 2303 Bream Dr., where Rainer & Carol Schlichtherle have spent 25 years creating a lush, private oasis. Their dedication to every detail—down to the 140 trees removed—has turned their yard into a living work of art.
Don’t miss the Salisbury and Rosemont Dance Party on February 14th at Fred Astaire Studios. It’s a night filled with fun, laughter, and dancing—RSVP and bring a friend!

With gratitude and excitement,
