Inspired by her own journey of rehabilitation, Kim discovered the benefits of practitioner-assisted stretching during her recovery. This discovery led her to start her own Stretch Zone, a wellness studio focused on practitioner-assisted stretching to enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and improve overall quality of life. “Stretch Zone had changed my life, so I knew I had to open one.”

 

Now Kim has three locations: Dothan, AL, Destin, and Pier Park, with another to open on 30A in September. “I finally feel like I know how to run my studios optimally,” Kim explained. “I learned that hiring the right people is key to success and I only hire people with backgrounds in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, or Medical Massage.” Their dedication extends beyond the studio walls, as they actively engage with and support their local communities through outreach programs and events. The latest event was Gulf Coast Jam where security, law enforcement, first responders, firefighters and anyone else who was working the event were stretched by the team. “We were honored to give back to those who give so much to the communities that they serve.”

 

Stretch Zone wasn't just a business endeavor for Kim; it was a platform to pay forward the gift of life she had received. Through Stretch Zone, Kim and her team provide personalized care and support to clients, helping them overcome physical limitations and reclaim their vitality. “Our goal is to help people get their lives back and allow them to do the activities they want to do without pain and suffering.”

Kim is married 38 years to the love of her life, Andy. “We married at a young age and moved all over the country for our jobs.  We never seemed to make the time for two-legged children, but we've always had dogs.” Currently, she and Andy have two labrador retrievers, Dillon and Maverick.
