Americans in Paris!
Weddings are always special, but from the first champagne toast to the farewell brunch the "Viva La Vice" wedding was truly amazing!
When Jon and Teri Vice first shared the engagement of their son Jay and his fiancée. Anna, we were all so excited for the couple and looking forward to their wedding. Never did I comprehend that would include traveling to Paris, and staying at a Fairytale Castle, Chateau Challain, which was constructed between 1847-1854; that the events would include a cruise on the Seine river, a masquerade ball, lavish meals, and amazing entertainment for days. The Chateau was exquisite and the accommodations? "Oh my!" Let's just say my room was fit for a queen!
After days filled with activity, the wedding day finally arrived. The ceremony was held in a church located next to the Chateau. It was filled with gorgeous flowers and candles which were illuminated by sunlight streaming through stained glass windows. Anna arrived at the church in a horse-drawn carriage, and looked stunning as she was escorted down the aisle by her parents. Music from the harp and string quartet filled the air as her father gave her hand over to a smiling Jay. The service was beautiful, and romantic and ended of course with a kiss. We were all ushered on to the rest of the festivities, cocktail party on the lawn, dinner, cake service, fireworks display, and then to the after party where we all danced the night away.
On the long plane ride back home my husband Bill and I reflected over the past week, all the events and how wonderful it was to share this time with our friends that have become our extended family. Jay and Anna are off on their honeymoon to the French Rivera as they begin their life together. Here from Sandestin, we wish them a long, healthy and very happy marriage!
