Golden Girls of Sedgefield: Bailey and Brynn

Two Retrievers Spreading Smiles and Wagging Tails

Sherry and Lance Pollock have been part of the Sedgefield community for 15 years. They enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the sense of community in the neighborhood.

Their pets, Bailey and Brynn, are both Golden Retrievers with distinct backgrounds. Bailey, a 13-year-old Golden Retriever, joined the Pollock family as a puppy from a breeder in Raleigh. From the very beginning, Bailey has been a loving dog, always seeking out attention and companionship from her family. Brynn, a 2-year-old English Golden Retriever, was adopted from the Triad Golden Retriever Rescue (TGRR) in September. Despite their age difference, the two dogs get along well and enjoy being petted by anyone they meet. Known for their gentle nature, they are friendly, rarely bark, and love being around children.

Bailey’s name was chosen after much deliberation, while Brynn kept her original name from the rescue. Their standout traits include their temperament and their seemingly constant smiles. While they don’t perform any unique tricks, they know basic commands like sit and lay down. Their favorite toys are tennis balls, and they enjoy snacking on blueberries.

Sherry shared, “Brynn is such a sweet dog! It’s so cute to see a rescue so sweet like she is!” Brynn, although a large dog, thinks she is a lap dog. She loves to sit on Lance’s lap and often joins him in the recliner when they are watching TV. It’s both funny and cute to see her trying to curl up in such a small space, much to the amusement of the Pollock family.

Sherry enjoys walking Bailey and Brynn every morning, affectionately calling them her “golden girls.” In the neighborhood, they enjoy spending time with the Rufianges’ Beagles down the street. Occasionally, they visit the Grandover Café when the weather is warm.

For adventures, Brynn loves to run, while Bailey enjoys staying close to Sherry. Both dogs have a strong love for food, making mealtime a fun and rewarding experience for them.
