Introducing Seville Pet Sitting

Seville Pet Sitting Offers Expert Animal and House Sitting Services with a Personal Touch

Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family
I grew up in the Bay Area. I would go back and forth from Oakland, Brentwood and Pleasanton. I lived in the Bay Area for 12 years and enjoyed every moment of it with my family, friends and peers.

My Sister, Emma Allen, grew up with me in Brentwood and Pleasanton. She was born in Walnut Creek and has shared a love for animals since she was little.

My older sister, Brittany, grew up with me since I was 7 and she was 10. She has taught me so many important things to take with me throughout life and is someone I will always look up to. My mom, Karma and my dad, Darryk, have taken amazing care of the three of us girls and our dogs; Sadie, Sophie and Lolly. Our fur babies are all rescued and spoiled like every animal should be (a guinea pig named Copper, too).

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now.
The events that led to where I am now dates back to my early childhood. I have always been around animals and have loved to learn everything I can about them.

As I grew up, I volunteered at an animal shelter called Wild Horse Rescue Ranch and have been animal sitting for a decade now. My sister, Emma, started helping me animal sit 5 years ago and she grew to love it. This year, 2024, we established our animal sitting company as Seville Pet Sitting.

My career path has always been led by animals. Animal rehabilitation, rescuing and healthcare are on the top of my career list.

I attended Chandler-Gilbert Community College and loved everything I learned there.

What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
Our business is an animal and house sitting service. We started our business when our friends asked Emma and I if we could watch their dogs. Once our first Seville client shared word of mouth about our excellent dog sitting service, other people began to ask us for availability. We clean up after their pets, make sure they're fed on time and always have a fresh bowl of water ready. We keep track of any specific needs the animals have and keep them safe. Depending on the size and temperament of the dog, we walk them too. Once we established our name as Seville Pet Sitting, we attended the 2024 Small Business Expo. We met many wonderful people who we shared our animal sitting service info with and passed out our business cards with treats to spread the word that we are here to care for your animals when you can't be there. Emma and I started our business based off of the love for all animals and caring for them and will continue to do so.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to Seville neighbors?
Our advice is to establish a good relationship with everyone you meet. For other folks who watch pets too, please keep a binder or white board separate from your main white board you share with your family, to keep track of each animal sitting date that comes up to help keep everything in order. From overlapping dates to coordinating dates that need to reschedule for a later date, etc.
Meet and Greets are so important with building trust and making a great first impression on clients and their pets. Always keep a list of emergency info and medications since it's vital for their well-being and not every pet takes them so it's good to ask every client you meet.

What else we should know about you, your family, or your business?
My sister and I animal sit together and separately. When two dates coincide, we can each take over one to make sure that both families have a friendly and well-trusted sitter to care for their pet(s).

We work together if the dates are longer and to meet a good ratio of sitters to pets. (for example, a client owns a Farm)
