Meet Senior Hailey Fish!

As an enthusiastic and talented senior from Skaneateles, Hailey is looking forward to graduating this spring!
Hailey has a deep passion for theater, singing, and acting. Although she’s always been interested in the performing arts and participated in choirs growing up, it wasn’t until she moved to Skaneateles in 2020 that her friends encouraged her to dive into theater—and she’s been hooked ever since. What she loves most about theater is the strong sense of community it creates. Through her involvement, Hailey has formed lasting friendships, and theater has also given her a boost of confidence she never imagined having at such a young age.
Hailey’s unique ability to light up a room, especially when she walks into the auditorium for rehearsal, sets her apart. She always makes an effort to greet everyone, uplift the group’s energy, and ensure that everyone feels welcome. This positive and approachable attitude has earned her leadership roles within the drama club, where she continues to inspire her peers.
Her proudest moment in theater was playing Janis in Mean Girls during her junior year. Taking on her first lead role was both challenging and rewarding. She credits her directors and choreographer—Mr. and Mrs. Franco and Miss Williams—for their incredible guidance and for creating a safe, supportive environment during rehearsals. Hailey especially admires Mr. Franco, whose encouragement and positivity have inspired her future goals. After high school, she aspires to become a high school history teacher and possibly direct shows or teach theater, following in his footsteps to foster spaces where students feel confident trying new things.
Beyond theater, Hailey enjoys crocheting and embroidering. She is also active in her school’s A Cappella group, Women’s Chamber Choir, Madrigal Choir, and a fun group called DNAB (which is "band" spelled backward!).
When it comes to advice for aspiring performers, Hailey encourages others not to lose hope. She believes it's okay to let yourself get excited about roles you want because the joy of achieving them is worth the occasional disappointment. Plus, kindness goes a long way—being supportive of others, regardless of casting outcomes, is essential.
Although Hailey doesn’t see herself heading to Broadway, she hopes to stay connected to theater through community productions and college performances. In her free time, she enjoys movies like The Social Network and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and she loves music from artists like Chappell Roan, Jeff Buckley, and Hozier. Hailey also dabbles in playing the piano and guitar, and she hopes to learn the violin this year.
Looking ahead, Hailey is committed to attending the University of Vermont next year, where she will major in secondary education with a concentration in social sciences. She is excited to continue her academic journey while staying connected to her passions. She soon dreams of living in Ireland someday, embracing new adventures while carrying her love for theater, music, and teaching wherever life takes her.
