Meet the Armijos!
Julia and Archie
In heart of the Village on State Street, the Armijos enjoy and appreciate the benefits of the Skaneateles Community and lifestyle. Katie and Jason, proud parents of Julia (16), Conor (9), and Liam (5) and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Archie (1), have fully embraced the charm and community spirit of our town. Whether it’s a day on the lake, or skiing at a local hill, the Armijos find themselves happiest when they are together. While the family shares a love for travel (including a recent trip to Peru and Machu Picchu), everyone individually enjoys their athletic activities and hobbies. Julia, an incoming junior at Skaneateles High School, enjoys spending time with her friends and helping in the Community. Conor delights in the game of baseball, that is, when he’s not in the lake fishing or sailing. Finally, Liam loves lacrosse and soccer.
Katie’s roots run deep in Skaneateles, where her family has a five-generation long history. She grew up on Pork Street, where her family’s property has housed generations of the Lee family. This connection to her family’s history and Katie’s own experience growing up in Skaneateles was a significant reason Katie and Jason decided to return here from New York City.
After graduating from Villanova with a business degree, and before starting her job as a CPA with PwC in NYC, Katie embarked on a year-long trip to Ecuador. It was there that she met Jason. After getting married and living for a few years in New York, Katie and Jason eventually sought a more community-based lifestyle, rather than fast-paced city living. Back in Skaneateles and closer to family, Jason began to learn the carpentry trade from Katie’s Dad, David Lee. After David’s retirement, Jason launched his own business, Armijo Carpentry, where he works to remodel and build homes locally. As an Associate Real Estate Broker with Howard Hanna, Katie finds harmony in both the financial and personal aspects of the job. In fact, her favorite part about real estate sales is connecting with people and families to help them find the perfect fit for them. Katie also enjoys the work/life balance element that her job offers, giving her time to be present with her family.
Amid their busy lives with parenting and working, Jason and Katie actively pursue real estate investment opportunities. Balancing three local rental homes and one in Cape Cod, the two find renovating these houses while keeping the character and spirit of the home very rewarding. Fun fact, one of Katie and Jason’s investment properties was discovered to be Katie's great grandmother's house back when she lived in Skaneateles!
Jason and Katie are incredibly generous with the time they devote to the community. Through his work with the Rotary, Jason volunteers at the local pancake breakfast annually and helps with other local Skaneateles events. Katie, on the boards of the Library, the Skaneateles Early Childhood Daycare, and formerly the Chamber, has devoted countless hours to the Town.
The Armijo family is so grateful to be here in Skaneateles and a part of this special community.
