Spring Cleaning, But Make It Delicious: Refreshing Your Rituals

There’s something about spring that makes everything feel fresh again. The first golden morning light filtering through the windows, the soft hum of a world slowly waking from winter’s chill, and the way people start reaching for iced coffee instead of a steaming mug. Although, I remain devoted to hot coffee because there’s something seriously sacrilegious about an iced coffee!
Just as we clear out closets and deep clean our spaces, spring invites us to rethink what we're
eating and drinking. Cravings start to shift. People swap out their cozy winter drinks for
something crisp and refreshing. Gone are the days of rich, spiced lattes and dense, delicious
pastries; in their place, lighter, brighter flavors come forward.
Seasonal ingredients always take center stage, and I love seeing menus remade to include fresh items throughout the year. These new bursts of flavor help match the changing energy in the air. Maybe it’s a lavender honey cold brew, a fruit-flavored ice cream, or a lighter, fluffy pastry that provides fuel for those sunnier days.
But a spring refresh isn’t just about what we consume; it’s about how we enjoy it. Lingering over
coffee or tea (hot or iced) in the sunshine, savoring a pastry at a slower pace, or taking a mindful moment to truly taste the flavors of the season. It’s about embracing change, welcoming renewal, and letting the lightness of spring seep into our daily rituals.
So as the world begins to bloom again, what will you refresh? A new go-to drink, a bright new
dessert, or maybe just the way you savor it all?
