Behind the Scenes: How We Prep for the Gardening Season

As gardeners, March means one thing: tool prep season! While we wait for the weather to cooperate, our team takes full advantage of those chilly, wet days to get our tools in top shape for spring. A smooth and efficient start to the season starts with well-organized, well-maintained tools.
Most of our hand tools—like pruners, trowels, and spades—are cleaned, sharpened, painted, and labeled in-house. Power tools, on the other hand, head to our trusted local vendor for sharpening and tune-ups. It’s a satisfying ritual that gets us excited for the season ahead.
We’ve also made the switch to battery-powered equipment and haven’t looked back. Our go-to tools, all from STIHL’s battery lineup, include the Mini Battery Chainsaw, Hedge Pruners, Leaf Blowers, Pole Saws, and more. These tools are powerful, reliable, and—bonus—much quieter than gas-powered versions. If you’re working from home while we’re on-site, you’ll barely notice we’re there. Plus, battery tools are safer for our team and kinder to the environment.
Once everything is clean, sharp, and charged, we carefully organize and stock our work vehicles with everything our teams need to hit the ground running as soon as the weather breaks.
So, if you ever need some nerdy plant friends to chat about gardening tools, we’re your crew. From power tools to pruners, we’ve got plenty of tips (and opinions!) to share. Here’s to another season of beautiful gardens and perfectly tuned tools!
