CRUISING TOGETHER

Casey and Sally on Navigating Life, Love, and Business

You may recognize your neighbor, Frederick (Casey) Schneider, as one of our treasured Stroll sponsors! Together with his wife, Sally, he owns Cassal Cooling and Heating. Here is their story, your reliable resource just around the corner!

Casey Schneider grew up between White Sands Missile Range and Las Cruces. In his childhood and beyond, he’s always held a sense of pride for his community and felt called to be of service. After graduating from Mayfield High School, Casey embarked on his career in the Army, specializing in Crypto Intelligence. In 1989, Casey shifted his sights towards his education. “After completing my first tour of duty, I transitioned out of the Army and began pursuing a degree in accounting at NMSU. However, after my first year, my Army Reserve unit was activated for Desert Storm, temporarily putting my academic plans on hold,” Casey shares.

After Desert Storm, Casey returned to Las Cruces with a newfound determination to pursue a career in engineering. When an opportunity arose at Intel, a renowned technology corporation, Casey relocated to Rio Rancho, happy to remain in his home state of New Mexico. During his time at Intel, he not only obtained his MBA, but also became a Process Engineer. Though he had many professional successes during this time, Casey shares that his greatest win of his era in Rio Rancho was meeting his wife, Sally.

Sally hails from Orange County, California. Between California and New Mexico, she’s a sunshine girl through and through. Sally was living and working in Rio Rancho when she met Casey in 2010. By 2012, the two had married at Elephant Butte Lake in honor of their shared love of water. While Casey was exploring his career in engineering, Sally worked as a trainer at Sprint until she retired in 2014 to care for her mother. After her mother's passing in 2017, she resumed her career as a trainer with Alliance Data in Rio Rancho. In 2022, she again took an early retirement when she and Casey moved to Las Cruces to care for Casey's elderly parents.

After moving back to Las Cruces, Casey continued working as an HVAC technician until he passed his contractor certifications and launched Cassal Cooling and Heating in August 2023 with Sally as his partner in business. The company name, Cassal, is a blend of the first three letters of Casey's name (Cas) and the first three letters of Sally's name (Sal,) a symbol of their partnership. Their business motto is, "We treat your home like a castle!"

Sally is now Casey's father's full-time caregiver. As a team, she and Casey do their best to cherish this time with Casey’s parents while keeping their company moving forward. Living in Sonoma Ranch has been a game-changer for their family and they feel so grateful for their friendly and helpful neighbors.

Casey and Sally both have children from previous marriages, totaling three daughters and two sons, all of whom are grown with families of their own. Their grandchildren range from middle school age to active duty military and Casey and Sally cherish their roles as Grandma and Grandpa.

As for furry family members Casey and Sally were grieving the passing of their beloved pup, Shadow, when they rescued their chihuahua, Alvin, last November. Not long after, in March of this year, they adopted two more puppies. “We named them Simon and Theadora (Thea for short.) This completed the trio of our little chipmunks,’” Casey shares.

In addition to their shared love of water, Casey and Sally love going for cruises on their motorcycle and have even trained Thea to accompany them on their shorter rides. They are proud members of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA), which gives them many opportunities to be of service to veterans in need. Cassal Cooling and Heating is proud to offer a 10% discount on labor tasks to veterans in our community. When a hardship is recognized and presented by a church, veterans organization, or other non-profit entity, Casey has been known to provide services at no cost to his fellow veterans. As Casey and Sally continue to settle into their life together in Las Cruces, they look forward to finding more opportunities to be of service to their community.

In their free time, Casey and Sally enjoy spending time on their boat at the lake or camping in their RV, usually by a body of water. They love spending time with their “chipmunks,” taking them for walks. No matter how busy life can get, Casey and Sally truly enjoy cruising through this wild ride together.
