The Go-To Shop for Sustainable Decor

Our once “new shop” on the block has become the regional go-to for eclectic, fun & passionate pieces that represent the values that mean so much to me – to grow our business and family locally, all while focused on doing it sustainably.

My long-held dream of bringing beautiful pieces together, creating exceptional spaces and supporting remarkable people, became a reality when WyndRose opened its doors in March 2021. We now offer home décor, art, and accessories; every piece supporting fair trade initiatives, sustainable, eco-friendly design and local up-and-coming artists. We’re proud to offer a variety of work from every corner of the globe to right here in the beautiful Blue Ridge!

And we are truly a family business – since opening our doors, our family has welcomed our second child, a sweet little girl Via, who is just as wild & curious as big brother Grant! On any given day you can find one or both kids “helping” out at the store, working so “mommy can sell stuff”! Many of our clients have gotten to know my kids, as well as my husband Ben, who graciously provides most of our delivery services when a larger piece of furniture is sold!  As a small family shop, you’re always likely to see me and our manager extraordinaire, Abigail Morgan Light, running the show. Abigail came to the WyndRose family with extensive experience in fine furnishings and home décor, providing invaluable service both to the shop and our growing clientele.

Often, I am asked...Why fair trade? Why sustainable? Why is knowing where my pieces come from and who made them important? And truthfully, I believe now more than ever it’s important to be aware of the world around us. That, whether you realize it or not, you have the power to create change by intentionally choosing products that align with your values. Simply put, it is a global movement where shoppers prioritize people and the environment over just the bottom line.

Everything we carry has a story, from the handblown glassware from Mexico, statues made of recycled oil drums in Kenya or jewelry designed by a woman’s cooperative in Cote d’Ivoire. Focusing exclusively on local, regional artists allows us to offer you unique, one-of-a-kind always authentic art and gives our artisans a fresh avenue to showcase their work, free of limitations on what they should create.

We are also happy to offer custom ordering and design services as well! We often say, “Shop global – with us as your guides!” From sourcing those hard-to-find pieces, curating an art collection for your walls or custom rug and furniture orders, WyndRose is a daily reminder of the beauty that exists in so many places, and how happy I am to be bringing a piece of it home to Roanoke.

What began as a childhood dream, while growing up here in Roanoke, developed over many years first at Virginia Tech (where Ben and I met) and then while spending 11 beautiful months backpacking around the world together (pre-kids and pre-pandemic!) finally came to fruition when we moved back “home” in 2020. Dreams of the beautiful places and people we have met from all over the world, through all our phases of life, continue to inspire me daily and a new dream of expanding the world of WyndRose and what we have to offer the Roanoke Valley.
