Two Horace Mann Elementary Community Events

Horace Mann's Auction Benefit and Giving Drive -- April 5 and The Spring Valley/Kent Progressive Dinner -- May 10

Horace Mann Elementary School PTA’s Auction is set for Saturday, April 5th, at 7 pm. The theme this year will be Mann at The Movies: A Night with the Stars! The auction is the school’s largest fundraising event and its success is critical to the operation of Horace Mann Elementary. For more, visit please horacemanndc.ejoinme.org/mannatthemovies

Horace Mann parents are planning the 2025 Spring Valley/Kent Progressive Dinner scheduled for Saturday, May 10th. This neighborhood-wide dinner party enables neighbors to spend a relaxing time meeting both old and new friends at a series of different Spring Valley and Kent homes. It is truly a ton of fun! Below is a note with information from our neighbors who are heading up this year's event.

Here’s how it works ...
  • 6:00 pm: First stop is cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in groups of ~25-30
  • 7:30 pm: Second stop is dinner in groups of ~12-18
  • 9:00 pm: Everyone will gather at the Amorosi's home on Glenbrook for dessert! Thank you, Sharon, for volunteering to host! It'll be an event you won't want to miss.
Consider hosting the hors d'oeuvre or dinner portion of the event and feel free to recruit neighbors! More dinner hosts are always needed, so as an incentive, those who host dinner receive complimentary tickets for the event. To host, contact Marguerite Clarkson at margcamp@gmail.com.

Funds raised by the Progressive Dinner support improvements to the fields and play areas of Mann Elementary - the part of the school that’s utilized by the neighborhood, even those who do not have children at Mann.

Horace Mann relies on the community to support the programming that makes it a most desired school for families across the city. The majority of the PTA’s fundraising dollars go towards providing a Partner Teacher in each classroom. The PTA also supports a myriad of initiatives, including educational programs such as art and language, professional development opportunities, classroom enrichment, and facility enhancements.
