At Architect David Jameson's Masterpiece -- 3131 Chain Bridge Road NW
Hosts Robert Hryniewicki, Adam T. Rackliffe, Christopher Leary, and Micah Smith of HRL Partners at Washington Fine Properties
On a blue-sky October afternoon, Spring Valley, Chevy Chase Village residents and Kent neighbors came together for a memorable wine tasting and open house hosted by HRL Partners of Washington Fine Properties and DC's oldest wine and spirits business, Ace Beverage Fine Wine & Spirits. Held at 3131 Chain Bridge Road NW, the event was an opportunity for residents and business partners to mingle, sample fine wines, and explore the latest modern masterpiece by internationally acclaimed architect David Jameson - known best for creating habitable art. Timeless and elegant, the home's striking exterior is wrapped in custom Bronze panels, handmade English clay brick tiles, and custom Sapele windows and doors.
Guests, greeted by hosts Robert Hryniewicki, Adam T. Rackliffe, Christopher Leary, and Micah Smith of HRL Partners at Washington Fine Properties, entered the home through a dramatic 10' x 8' pivoting glass door and toured four luxurious levels of the 12,200 square foot open concept home.
Guests sampled wines in the serene rear garden, thoughtfully landscaped, overlooking a saltwater pool and the natural beauty of Battery Kemble Park. Curated by Alina Naujokaitis from Ace Beverage, the tasting featured three distinct white wines, each carefully selected to highlight unique regions and flavor profiles. As guests sipped their way through the tasting, Alina provided insights into the body, sweetness, and tannins of each blend, offering an engaging lesson in wine appreciation.
Between sips, guests were able to ask questions and learn more about the property, while enjoying the relaxed ambiance of the open house. What they saw:
-- A light-filled main level featuring a two-story living room with fireplace, formal dining room, butler pantry, and chef's kitchen open to both the breakfast and family rooms. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows including an array of 11'x7' sliding doors seamlessly blurring the indoor-outdoor living experience and framing views to the pool, rear garden, and park beyond.
-- Six bedrooms and a total of six full + two half bathrooms, featuring a primary suite with large sitting area and a dressing room encased with custom Macassar ebony cabinets in addition to several other closets; a marble slab bathroom with dual vanities, and a custom separate tub and shower; as well as a second full bath with marble countertops, shower, and custom cabinets.
-- Panoramic vistas from DC to Virginia, Maryland and the Potomac River basin from the top level's lounge, kitchenette, office, which included sliding glass doors opening to a wrap-around terrace and green roof.
Guests also marveled at a car collector's dream - the lower level provides garage parking for 6+ cars and ample storage. This impressive space is climate controlled and doubles as an event space with twelve-foot ceilings and programmable custom lighting.
Thanks to HRL Partners and to Ace Beverage for a perfect blend of real estate, fine wine, and community spirit. The event showcased a beautiful home and also fostered meaningful connections.
