Annual Pumpkin Carving and Chili Night Brings Neighbors Together in the Preserve

Each fall, the residents of the Preserve section in Sterling look forward to a special neighborhood tradition: Crystal Terrill’s annual Pumpkin Carving and Chili Night. Held in her backyard off Trail Side Drive, this event has grown from a small gathering of a few couples in 2017 to a favorite autumn gathering for families throughout the Preserve.

The night kicks off with a fun pumpkin-carving session, where both kids and adults let their creativity shine, transforming pumpkins into all kinds of whimsical and spooky designs. After the carving is complete, everyone gathers for the main event – a hearty chili dinner featuring Crystal’s famous white chicken chili. Known throughout the Preserve for her delicious recipe, Crystal’s chili has become a signature part of the evening.

Neighbors pitch in by bringing appetizers and desserts to share, creating a potluck-style spread that keeps everyone full and happy. It’s a perfect way for Preserve residents to catch up, relax, and enjoy each other’s company in a festive fall atmosphere.

Crystal’s Pumpkin Carving and Chili Night captures the spirit of the Preserve – bringing families together to celebrate friendship, food, and the joy of the season.
