Stonebriar Village Junior Resident, Austin Smith, an energetic 14-year-old eighth grader at Arbor Creek Middle School, is a young man of many talents and ambitions. Growing up in the neighborhood, Austin has made the most of everything it offers, from activities to outdoor adventures, all while excelling in a range of sports and extracurriculars. 

Austin is currently enjoying his first year playing football and continues to work hard as a pole vaulter, a sport he began in seventh grade. A natural golfer, he competes on the country club team in the summer and humorously indulges his parents with family games. Swimming is another summer favorite for Austin, who has been a junior coach on the country club swim team for three years. Since age seven, Austin has trained in Tae Kwan Do, earning a third-degree black belt and volunteering as part of the leadership program at Tiger Rock Martial Arts. 

Music is another passion for Austin, as he’s in his third year of playing the trombone. Off the field and stage, Austin embraces adventure. He holds a boating license and enjoys jet skiing in Florida, while winter vacations often find him excelling on the slopes as a snowboarder. 

Stonebriar Village holds a special place in Austin’s heart. He fondly remembers activities like the fishing tournament, Easter egg hunts, and Christmas events. Exploring outdoors, riding bikes, and fishing are favorite pastimes that highlight why this community is so great. Beyond the neighborhood, Austin loves college football and cherishes trips to Austin for games 

Austin admires his mom, citing her work ethic and determination as qualities that inspire him. As he looks to the future, Austin has his sights set on attending LISD TECC West after high school to earn a welding certificate. He plans to pursue a career in welding, combining his passion for hands-on work with his ambition to excel. 

With his broad range of talents, love for community, and determination, Austin is sure to achieve great things. He’s a true standout in our neighborhood!
