From The Ashes We Rise

Here's an update on The Ashe Brothers, musicians who were originally featured in the October 2024 issue of Stroll Stonebridge.

Conor Ashe and Ryan Ashe, professional musicians living and working in Southern California were born and raised in Naperville, and are graduates of Neuqua Valley High School and the University of Iowa. Conor and Ryan are the twin sons of Judy and Patrick Ashe, who are residents of The Glen in Stonebridge.

While Conor and Ryan were back in Aurora/Chicagoland area over the December/January holidays performing and visiting family, the destructive wildfires were ravaging areas of Southern California, not far from where the brothers now call home.  While the Ashe Brothers homes were not affected by the fires, their hearts most certainly were.

Accomplished songwriters and vocalists, with influences of Rock n Roll, Americana, Bluegrass, and Jazz, Conor’s focus is on Acoustic Guitar, Bass, and Keys. Ryan focuses on Lead Guitar and Percussion. Their vocal precision together is astounding.

Upon returning to their homes in Southern California in late January,  The Ashe Brothers headlined a concert on February 2, 2025 involving several other musicians to benefit California fire victims at the Beach House in Seal Beach, CA and raised just under $12,000 for the California Fire Foundation to aid those affected.

“The participation emphasizes the importance of the local music scene in this area,” noted Ryan in a recent phone call from his home in California. “The amount raised definitely exceeded our expectations. It was heartwarming to connect and bring people together from all parts of California and to make a difference in people’s lives. The participating bands all helped each other to round out a day of friends, kindness, good music, and good vibes.”

“Everybody left happy,” noted Conor, with regard to the more than 100 attendees who came to support the cause and filled the venue.

With the Arts being a natural communication tool, I am moved by the resulting impact when an artist “walks the talk” and cares enough to serve their community with their gifts of vocation in times of need as The Ashe Brothers have done.

The Ashe Brothers are hard at work writing new music now and will soon be printing the vinyl version of their record “Melancholy Days”.  The duo will be back in our local Aurora area in the summer of 2025 where you may catch a performance. Stay updated on their socials for the schedule so you can catch this duo live here at home!
