Luke Sorrels
Meet the multi-talented, multi-sports loving 8th grade athletic go-getter who is ready to see the world, one lacrosse filed at a time!
Luke and his friend Beckham Willis in NC this past summer after winning the tournament!
The Sorrels family has called Edinburgh home since August 2016, shortly after Luke began kindergarten. From a young age, Luke has shown a natural talent for sports. His dedication and hard work have led to significant achievements.
Luke is a passionate athlete who loves both lacrosse and basketball. He’s incredibly driven and spends countless hours practicing, whether outside or inside. He’s even created makeshift goals in our basement or foyer!
A Lacrosse and Basketball Enthusiast
Luke began playing lacrosse in the spring of second grade, inspired by his older brother and a friend. His love for the sport quickly grew, and he has since played for local and travel teams. Luke transferred to Hebron Christian Academy beginning in 6th grade. Recreational lacrosse and basketball have been great ways for Luke to spend time with his neighborhood and North Gwinnett friends. He is a talented "middie"- a midfielder for Team 91 GA, Team 91 South, and Team 91 Nationals.
In addition to lacrosse, Luke is also a dedicated basketball player. He participates in North Gwinnett recreational leagues and is a member of his middle school team. His enthusiasm and commitment to both sports are evident. His ultimate goal is to play lacrosse in college; we believe he is well on his way to achieving this goal!
A Family Affair
Luke and his older brother Jonathan have had the opportunity to compete in tournaments across the country, creating lasting memories and bonding as a family. So far, we have played in tournaments in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware! These tournaments have been fun mini-vacations for our family and have given us great opportunities to see new places and spend time together. This past year, Luke and his friend Beckam Willis started a challenge of seeing how many Division 1 lacrosse fields they can visit while traveling. So far, they have been to the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina, and the Naval Academy. While it may not be an official college visit, they enjoy stepping foot on the fields for fun!
A Bright Future
As Luke continues to grow and develop his athletic skills, we do not doubt that he will achieve great things. His dedication, talent, and positive attitude make him a role model for young athletes in the Edinburgh community.
